Library Scavenger Hunt
All 6th grade students and all of Ms. McCarthy's students participated in a library scavenger hunt this year as part of the library orientation.
8th Grade Google Sites Lesson
During early September, all 8th grade students at OMS came to the library with their language arts classes to learn about Google Sites. While in the lesson, these students created their own Google Site which they will use throughout this year as a digital portfolio for all of their classes.
CTE Breakout
6th grade students in Ms. Venturella's CTE classes came to the library to participate in a breakout using logic puzzles as clues.
Students Caught Reading
In addition to all the other activities in the library, students choose books for checkout. These students were caught reading their self selected books.
He's a Winner!
Approximately 50 books are "winner" books in the library at all times. Jacob checked out a winner book and chose his prize.
New Books
In September, we went to Barnes & Noble and bought new library books using Boxtops for Education funding.
3D Printing
Students are encouraged to create designs which we print on our 3D printer. Quinton was proud to show off his design. Interested students should see Ms. Sturdivant or Ms. Tremble for assistance in creating a Tinkercad account for 3D design.
Our Library
The OMS library is open from 7:05-3:34 daily. Ms. Tremble and Ms. Sturdivant are excited to help students find books, 3D print, and use their technology. Maker Club meets before school in the library each day. Battle of the Books will meet on Wednesday afternoons beginning October 10 (3:15-4:15).
