Take Your Child to Work Day
2nd Grade Habitat Studies
2nd Graders in Miss Flanagan's class are hard at work studying habitats in science. The class heard a special guest presentation from Molly's mom, Ms. Laura Baird. Ms. Baird works for the Heritage Conservatory in Bucks County, PA. The 2nd graders learned all about spotted salamanders that live in the Quakertown Swamp. It was a great opportunity to connect learning of how living organisms needs are met to the great work Heritage Conservatory does everyday!
Immunization Requirements Update
The Pennsylvania Department of Health has revised the immunization requirements for students effective the 2017-2018 school year.
As of August 2017, a parent must have all immunizations completed within the first 5 days of school.
If the student is in the middle of a series and it is too soon for the next dose, the parents must provide the school nurse with a plan for immunizations (signed by a health care provider) within the first 5 days. If the student has incomplete immunizations and no medical plan, the student will be excluded from school.
You may check your child’s school immunization record by logging onto the parent portal through the district website at www.cbsd.org or by consulting with your child’s physician.
A Note from Dr. Bolton
Dear Central Bucks Elementary Community,
Thank you to the over 300 individuals who have completed the feedback survey so far. A reminder that there is still time to provide your feedback through the survey link below.
The Elementary Report Card Committee has been working since June to recommend new report cards in grades 1 through 6 for next school year. The drafts have been completed and we would like your feedback on them. You can view the report cards by clicking here. We have also included a Frequently Asked Questions document that may be helpful to you. The principal at your child’s school would also be able to answer any questions you may have.
Once you have reviewed the report cards, please provide feedback through a short (2-minute) survey. The Committee will review this feedback and plans to present final report cards to the School Board in May for their approval.
I am extremely grateful to the members of the Report Card Committee for their hard work in developing these report cards and I appreciate, in advance, your feedback on them.
Sincerely,
David A. Bolton, Ed.D.
Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education
