THANK YOU P&F

Many thanks to the merry band of P&F Mums who came to clean out our school canteen on Wednesday. It was a big job but it now looks fantastic!

Being helpful is such a wonderful personal quality to possess.

May we all continue to reach out to others in a spirit of helpfulness - small kindnesses make a BIG difference at this busy, tiring end of the school year.

From the Principal

Dear Families,

Another busy and productive week here at school!

Despite the busyness and long 'to do' lists, we remain focused on maintaining a calm, respectful, happy and engaging learning environment for all children and staff to work and play in.

Thank you to families for letting us know things, especially in regard to your child's health and wellbeing, because if we are not told important things, we cannot respond effectively and in a timely way.

Thank you also for doing your part at home. Maintaining routines, getting kids to bed on time, packing healthy lunchboxes, keeping home life as happy and as calm as you can, amidst all the demands, will also help to set your child up for a really great end to the school year.

You are wished a relaxing weekend, and if not relaxing, a happy and grateful one.

Kindest regards

Tania Thuijs

Principal

A Whole School Community Effort for those in need ...

Dear St Emilie's Families,

Please read the letter below that invites you to make a small donation towards our annual support of St Vincent de Paul, who do such wonderful work in the community.

Next week each class will be collecting items that will go towards creating 35 large Christmas hampers for local families doing it very tough at the moment.

We will also be setting up our Christmas Tree in the Office with our Wish Upon a Star tags in mid November. This allows any families who would like to buy a small gift for children of these families, to do so.

Many thanks for your generous support - it is very much appreciated by the families themselves and by all the volunteers who deliver them.

Adult Faith Learning - Preparation for Advent

03 Nov to 24 Nov ESSENTIAL PREPARATION FOR ADVENT: THE MEANING OF CHRISTIAN HOPE (ONLINE)

Wednesdays, 7.30pm to 8.30pm, (4 sessions) Online. In preparation for Advent, this course will explore the meaning and content of Christian hope, and the centrality of Christ’s Incarnation to Christian hope. Delving into the writings of St Paul, Pope Benedict XVI, St Pope John Paul II and Josef Pieper, we will learn about the theological virtue of hope, how it is essential to our human nature and divine calling, how the theological virtues of faith, hope and love weave intricately together to bring us to union with God and how Christian hope keeps us ‘forever young’. We will also discuss the efficaciousness of the Holy Spirit, receiving Christ Incarnate in the Eucharist, and prayer, fasting and almsgiving to grow Christian hope and combat hopelessness (despair, acedia and presumption) to prepare our hearts in hope for the coming of our Saviour. Social Worker PARENT REFERRAL and CONSENT FORM

School social workers focus on the student in the school environment and work collaboratively with principals and teachers to minimise the impacts of personal, family and school difficulties and, where possible, remove any barriers to learning.

With students as their focus, school social workers provide consultancy, advice and support to principals, teachers and other school staff and to families, so that they can best meet the needs of individual and groups of children and young people. There is a strong emphasis on individual student and family counselling and support.

This service is an amazing opportunity for kids, staff and families and one we have wanted in our school for some time.

Please find below the Parent Referral and Consent Form to access our School Social Worker.

You are asked to read the procedure carefully and also note that Kylie only works two days a week. While she will do her very best to accomodate all family referrals, patience may be required as she prioritises her case load and allows time for observation visits, classroom support and playground involvement.
