Mrs. Trout's Weekly News
November 15th- 19th
What a wonderful week in first grade!
This week we:
- We went on our field trip to Chester County Historical Society! We learned about what colonial time was like, how they lived, and what they ate. We had so much fun learning how to make butter, dressing up, and playing with toys.
- We focused on the -sh digraph. We watched videos on the -sh sound and read books.
- We learned the sight words: by, call, could, know, some, there, were, would.
- We read nonfiction stories about animals and discussed chronological order in our reading stories this week.
- We began Topic 3 in math and learned how to add on using a number line.
- We continued writing in cooperative learning groups. We wrote our plays about Thanksgiving, Pilgrim life, life on the Mayflower and the First Thanksgiving. We began recording our plays using an AR Makr app!
