DISTRICT NEWS
YMS CONSTRUCTION BEGINS
Today security fencing was installed around the YMS construction site. Last week, a community forum was held to discuss with neighbors a variety of topics from parking, traffic, security and noise. Continue to visit the district website for timeline of activities. A ground breaking event will be held on April 14.
On Sunday, March 8, remember to move your clocks forward one hour for Daylight Savings.
COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
Billy Frank Jr. Life and Legacy Celebration is on March 11. The event takes place at Nisqually Middle School and is open to the public (families welcome!). This is an awesome way to support community engagement with our local Native community as well celebrate a Nisqually Tribal member who fought for social justice during the civil rights era.
This year Yelm has over 10 businesses hosting locations for students to visit. Look for maps to be delivered to schools mid-March. The event takes place March 28-April 12. Turn forms into your teacher by April 13 to be entered into prize drawings.
Every 10 years the census counts every person "living" in the 50 United States, District of Columbia and 5 U. S. Territories. Each home will receive an invitation to complete a short questionnaire - online, by phone, or by mail. Watch this video or visit our website to learn more.
