Freedom
Freedom is defined as the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.
1990's
The internet is the largest single gateway to a double edged freedom the world has ever seen. With the creation of the internet we have access to information at the click of a couple buttons, something that no one before us has had. This freedom has allowed for everything in the world to improve and this freedom has made us a new people. Inspiring people to improve on things across the world, collaborate with people they've never met, and really spread information places that before the internet would have been tedious and more than likely never would have happened.
1960's
Martin Luther King Jr. similar to Rosa Park took a stand for freedom in America for all people, regardless of race. His
"I have a dream" speech will be remembered until the end of time and has a resonating effect on our time now and the future. He spoke of his children having the freedom that he never did, the idea that he plants a tree of freedom that although he may never sit under, his children and grandchildren may have the pleasure to sit under. This embodies not only the idea of freedom but also the idea of a sacrifice that is greater than himself, something Americans have done time and time again.

Rosa Park took a stand for freedom in a time when taking a stand for an African American woman was very uncommon. She showed through her perseverance and diligence that although at the time they were not considered equal, that all races regardless of where they came from deserved to have the same freedoms. This is very representative in a way of the original freedom that Americans experienced in regards to England considering the colonists to be lesser, Rosa Parks took those some principles we used to justify our freedom in order to justify hers.
Innovation
Innovating is defined as "to make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products"
1960's
Apollo 11 was President Kennedy's answer to the promise he had made of getting a man to the moon by the end of the 60's. Although Soviet Russia had already gotten a craft to the moon, the United States were the first to have a man walk on the moon. This feat was not an easy one and large amounts of time and money were put into this project. This embodies the ideals of science in the way that it was the first time we ever expanded our studies to the moon in a physical realm, giving us access to all kinds of new data.
1970's
In 1975 the first personal CPU's were introduced, sold as kits that the buyer had to put together. The invention of computers opened doors in the field of computer science, allowing for thousands of things we take for granted every day, creating jobs, and leading the way for more and more innovation in the world of computers.
1990's
We can't talk about the computer being invented without the mention of the innovation that allowed for them to become the giants they are today. The internet allowed for networks of computers to connect with each other, creating in a sense an infinite source of constantly connecting information databases. The internet is a gateway to constantly expanding technology that was created in the US. Without the internet it is a reasonable assumption that we would be much further behind technology-wise than we are already.
Enterprise
Enterprise is defined as a project or undertaking, or as a business or company. The United States has been a breeding ground for multiple internationally successful businesses.
1980's
Starting in 1984 AT&T identified as Integrated telecommunications services, now they are a global networking leader. AT&T is an international business with service all over the world, they were one of the first companies to really take the idea of telecommunications services and turn it into an enterprise, one that has had much success in the past 30 years.
1970's
Apple was created in 1970 by 3 men, one of which had a dream and the other 2 whom were hesitant. The creation and nourishment of Apple inc. today has led to a huge internationally successful business market that has about 50% of the smart phone industry and has laptops and computers used around the world. Apple is an example of how someone in America does not need a lot of money, simply know-how, in order to become a success and enterprise their idea into something much bigger than they ever could had imagined.
2000's
Tesla was created in the Silicon Valley by a group of engineers who wanted to prove that electronic cars were a viable competitor to the currently dominated gasoline cars. Their surge came when they not only created a car that could go hundreds of miles, but a car that could accelerate much quicker than all but the top model gasoline cars. Tesla has made their name in electronic cars in a time where gasoline cars where the biggest name by a large margin. They gave hope to other innovators and enterprises to go for their idea if they believe enough in it.
