Benchmark testing
As we prepare for the last 9-weeks grading period for the school year, students will take their last round of benchmark testing for the year. The tests will be given on the following days: Math on Wednesday, March 21st, ELA on Thursday, March 22nd, and 8th grade Science on Friday, March 23rd. The teachers will use the benchmark results to identify possible gaps in student learning and to determine the best plan for preparing students for top notch performance on the North Carolina End-of-Grade assessments. Please make sure that your child arrives to school on time and their laptop is fully charged for the assessments.
Sports
The Falcon Volleyball Team and Boys' Soccer Team traveled to Dixon Middle School this week. The Soccer team lost the game 0-3. Despite this loss, the team continues to work hard every day at practice to improve their soccer skills. The level of team play has increased significantly since the beginning of the year and the team looks forward to testing their skills next week.
Trexler Lady Falcons played at Dixon Middle School on Wednesday, March 14th. The Falcons were able to win the first 2 games, but the Lady Bulldogs came back to win game three. Finally, the Lady Falcons were able to put the match away with a win in game 4. It was a battle with many good volleys from both teams. The Lady Falcons were led by Caroline Cubas with 12 points and a 6 point serving streak in game 4. Chloe Falcone, Amelia Weber, and Macausey Bedell each contributed 7 points a piece. A truly superb team effort to bring home the win!
The Soccer team and Volleyball team will play on Wednesday, March 21st at home against New Bridge Middle School, and again on Thursday, March 22nd at Southwest Middle School. All games will begin at 4:00 pm.
Baseball tryouts will begin on Monday, March 26th. Students must meet eligibility criteria, have a current physical on file, and a current athletic participation to include insurance information and signatures in order to participate. Furthermore, parents must have attended a MRSA and concussion training prior to participation in tryouts. If you have not attended a meeting for this school year, Trexler will hold a meeting at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 21st.
