Trexler Middle School

A Day of Kindness

Thank you to all the students, parents, and community members who participated in Trexler's Day of Kindness that was held on March 14, 2018. During this event we worked to stress the importance of being kind, reaching out to those who may be lonely, nurturing friendships among classmates, and promoting unity. We also participated in a moment of silence at 10:00am in honor of all previous acts of school violence including the tragedy in a Florida high school last month. Students and staff wore the color blue (the color associated with peace) to serve as an outward expression of our commitment to being kind. Students engaged in teacher led activities during the Enrichment period to promote these traits. Thank you for your help in supporting violence free schools and kindness to others.

For Rising 9th Graders

All students slated to attend RHS next year have been provided a blue registration form and students should be working with their parents to make their course selections. The high school has asked that parents ensure that the forms are legible and include signatures from both the student and the parent. Registration materials are due to the homeroom teacher or Trexler counselor no later than Wednesday, March 21st.

Southwest High School will be at Trexler on Monday, April 9th during the Enrichment period to discuss registration with Trexler students slated to go to SWHS next year. They will also be hosting a parent/student night on Tuesday, April 10th at 6pm in their auditorium.

Benchmark testing

As we prepare for the last 9-weeks grading period for the school year, students will take their last round of benchmark testing for the year. The tests will be given on the following days: Math on Wednesday, March 21st, ELA on Thursday, March 22nd, and 8th grade Science on Friday, March 23rd. The teachers will use the benchmark results to identify possible gaps in student learning and to determine the best plan for preparing students for top notch performance on the North Carolina End-of-Grade assessments. Please make sure that your child arrives to school on time and their laptop is fully charged for the assessments.
