March 4, 2019
Dear parents,
We are in the last week of quarter 3 and we hope to see you at parent teacher conferences this week which will be held in the library.
ENGLISH
7th Grade: In grammar, we are working on subject/verb agreement. There are two more lessons and we will be done with the chapter and ready for another test. We will continue reading The Giver this week and students should submit their word counts for the Million Word Challenge by Thursday.
8th Grade: We will continue our studies of subject/verb agreement this week. We are also about halfway through The Outsiders and we are starting to actually get back into a routine. Word counts for the Million Word Challenge are due by Thursday.
SOCIAL STUDIES
6th Grade: We are in the midst of our study of Ancient Greece. Students are doing research on an aspect that interests them. They need to have it done and shared with me by Friday. It will be the last grade for the 3rd marking period. Students will also be delving into Greek culture and the legacy of Greece this week.

8th Grade: We will have our last willing to wait class on Monday. They have a study guide on geologic time due Tuesday and a test on Friday.
ART
8th Grade: We are finishing our watercolor abstractions inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe beginning of the week. I hope to get the clay fired so we can glaze on wed and maybe have a choose your own one day little project on Friday. It has been great having the 8th grade in art this marking period.
SINCERELY,
