Defer Process for Students Applying to UW-Madison
Seniors who got a "deferred" decision from UW Madison should make sure you are following the directions on the email you received. You must update your self-reported grades to add quarter 2 (and quarter 1 if you did not do that). You need to do that by February 18 to get a decision by the end of March
- Defer: Applicants who are deferred are neither admitted nor denied upon initial review. Deferred applicants have the potential for success at UW–Madison, however, we would like to review midyear grades and other supporting material prior to making a final decision. Decisions on deferred students will be made by the end of March. Note: Students who receive a defer decision are emailed information on self-reporting grades and updating their file within two days of receiving their decision, at the email address on their application. Self-reporting is highly recommended and should be completed as soon as possible ahead of the February 18, 2022 deadline.
