Colts,
Spring Break! Just think, we only have a quarter of the school year left. Today we had a chance to enjoy one of our CMS traditions by celebrating our National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Pasta for Pennies student/faculty basketball game. Led by our NJHS student-leaders and sponsors, our student body had an opportunity to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society and enjoy a fun pep rally to end the week. It gives me much pride to see our staff and students pull together for a great cause, which also supports our Portrait of a Graduate (P.O.G.) mission to cultivate good local and global citizens. Today was a great way to end the third nine weeks and head into our Spring Break. I hope it is full of rest and fun for our Colts. Have a great break!

Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation Winners!
Each year the Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation awards the promise of a college scholarship to more than 30 eighth graders in North Texas. These students are selected from finalists who complete applications. This helps middle school students familiarize themselves with the scholarship process even before they enter high school. Of the 30 students selected, CMS had two winners in Jennifer Yan and Samantha Zelling who each won $2,500 for college! Colt nation is proud of all of our applicants and our two award winners! CMS Choir - UIL Concert and Sightreading
The Select Men made Division 2 Excellent ratings in Concert AND in Sightreading. Everyone of these boys is BRAND NEW to choir this year, and I'm so proud of their hard work and work ethic! They really stepped up to the plate!
The Select Women made a Division 1 Superior rating in Concert and a Division 2 Excellent rating in Sightreading. They received a plaque for their concert scores. 80% of them are BRAND NEW to choir this year, and I'm blown away by their talent!
The Varsity Women and Varsity Men made Division 1 Superior ratings in both Concert and Sightreading, which we call a Sweepstakes! They did great and I'm bursting with pride! Each choir received a trophy for their scores. The girls actually made me cry on stage while they sang... just beautiful!!!
