- When dropping off or picking up your child (ren) at the gym entrance, please make sure that you pull all the way up to the end of the sidewalk, past the gym entrance. This can help lighten the traffic on Penns Park Road.
- Masks must be worn when on-site, approaching the building. Thank you for your attention to this requirement.

- To comply with the CRSD Health and Safety Plan, parents will not be able to enter the school building.
- Students will enter the building at the gym side entrance doors. Parents should remain outside the building while their child's picture is taken. I will be at the gym side entrance doors to assist as needed.

We made it! We reached our March reading goal of 76,000 minutes!! Reaching this goal certainly has given a sense of accomplishment to so many of our students, and the pajama day celebration was evidence of that!
We are gearing up for April’s incentive, but we are making it a little more challenging this month. Our goal is 80,000 minutes, and our incentive is a Reading Beach Party! The students will find out about this on Monday, so mums the word!! If our April reading goal is met, students will be permitted to bring in beach towels, and enjoy half an hour of outdoor “beach reading”, complete with water ice!
Please remember that daily reading logs can be found on my website or at this link. At the end of the month, students can log the total minutes that they have read for the month. This program has truly sparked an interest in reading in so many of our Wrightstown students - thank you so much for your support at home. We couldn’t do it without you!! Together we are building great readers!
1st Grade CogAT Testing
Tuesday, April 13th
Thursday, April 15th
Friday, April 16th
Please ensure your child brings their Chromebook to school each day, fully charged.
PSSA Testing Dates (Grades 3-6)
It's time for PSSAs! I recently shared with families the specific dates for testing. Those dates are included below. For your planning purposes, students in grades 3 - 6 will take the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) on the following dates:
English Language Arts: Tues., 4/20, Wed., 4/21 & Thurs., 4/22
Math: Mon., 4/26, Tues., 4/27
Sci: Mon., 5/3 & Tues., 5/4
Electronic Devices Letter 2021
In addition, although it is not always possible, it is best to avoid having children take make-up tests. Therefore, it is helpful to schedule necessary appointments outside the testing times and have your child present at school each day on time. If any student arrives at school after the 9:30 a.m. test start time, students will need to make up the missed assessment on another day. We know that the children will be successful when they give their best effort, and the staff and I appreciate your support

Prior to Spring Break, all 5th & 6th graders participated in career readiness lessons. 5th grade learned about conflict management, how to effectively communicate to settle a conflict, and how this skill set is important for success in school, the community, and their future career.
6th graders learned about their personality types through a fun personality quiz! They were excited to gain insights into their personality types and learn what careers could potentially be a good fit for them!
Yearbook Photos Needed!
Families, we need your help! We would like to provide students with a memorable yearbook this year. Due to the restrictions that prevent parent photographers from being in the building, we need your pictures throughout the year. These photographs should only include students at Wrightstown Elementary School. Please upload your photos below. Thank you in advance for your help to create a memorial yearbook for our students!

Student Expectations for Camera Use in the 4th Marking Period
Below is taken from Dr. Fraser's email (3/16):
When MP 4 begins on Tuesday, April 6th, we will initiate the following new expectations for students regarding camera usage and in-person assessment completion. These changes presented below, reflect our commitment to high standards for all Council Rock students while trying to still balance some difficulties associated with the ongoing pandemic.
K-8th Grade Virtual Learner Camera Expectation:
Because ALL of our K-8 students now have a District-issued Chromebook, beginning on April 6th we will base attendance for this group on camera usage. Specifically, we ask that teachers monitor and mark virtual student attendance via the use of the camera to attend class.
SPIRIT WEEK: MAY 10 - 14TH
Over the past few weeks, there has been much discussion as to how our field day event will be run this year. The district elementary P.E. Department has agreed that we would like to provide a fun and exciting event for the students to look forward to at the end of the year. I am excited to announce that we will move forward with a modified plan for field day that meets the current health and safety plan of the district. This year field day will be across a week-long event, named “Spirit Week”! The goal is for students to participate in outdoor game play that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and cooperation. Below are some important notes:
- P.E. teachers will run the games during the week of May 10th
- Students will participate in spirit week outdoor games during their P.E. class time
- Virtual students will have the opportunity to participate in “at home” games that are created specifically for kids to play at their house
- Shirts with school colors will be available for optional purchase April 9th-11th through the PTO
- Kindergarten classes will be adding a P.E. time during spirit week to participate in all events (more info follow)
- Parents will be able to view pictures and videos of the students at the end of each day
To kickstart our exciting news, the first event for spirit week is a design contest for the t-shirt worn during spirit week!! With collaboration of the PTO, all students will be given the opportunity to create their own design that could win and be printed on the front of WES spirit week shirts. All paper submissions should be turned in at the office or digital submissions to their P.E. teacher’s google classroom. Teachers will have the opportunity to help decide the winning design! Students can work together with their family to come up with creative ideas. All information regarding the contest is attached.
We hope you are as excited as the P.E. team that our event can happen this year. Although different, we believe it will be a memorable time for our Wrightstown students!
Thank you for your understanding and support,
Mrs. Hart and Mrs. Smith

Car Rider Drop Off and Pick-Up Procedures
If you are new to Car Pick Up Only: During the first week of your return to school, every car rider family received two (2) placards. Students will be given these placards to take home. Please note, these placards will be distributed per family, not students. We appreciate your patience as we transition to these new procedures. It will take some time for this new process to become routine.
- Two (2) placards will be provided per car rider family.
- Placards must be displayed in the car windshield in full view for staff to see when picking up students.
- Remember to remain in your car during this process. Staff members assigned to this area will assist your child to your vehicle.
- If you don’t have a placard displayed and the staff doesn’t recognize you, you will be asked to park and visit the main office in the front of the building to provide identification to sign your child out.
Here is how car rider dismissal procedures will work:
-Display your school-issued placard in your car windshield so that it is visible.
-Upon entering the school site you will turn left (there is a sign on the right of the driveway indicating this) and drive through the front parking lot.
-Once you come to a stop sign you will cross over the bus lane into another parking lot and turn right.
-You will proceed down toward the gym entrance and pull your car up as far as you can go. Cones will be stationed in this area.
-Please remain in your car.
-A staff member will write down your child’s name and radio the office to call for your child/ren to be dismissed from their classroom to the gym doors.
-Depending on the time that it takes your child to exit the building, you may be asked to move your car out of the line and park in a parking space. Staff will direct you.
If your child is a car rider, you will no longer be permitted to park in the staff/visitor parking lot, walk up and receive your child. You must remain in the car line to pick up your child/ren. No child will be released to a parent/person outside of their car.
Car rider procedures for morning drop off remain the same.
-Once on site follow the signs for car rider drop off located on the gym side of the school.
-Parents pull their car up to the gym side of the school where you will remain in your car.
-Children exit the car from the passenger side only and enter the school through the gym doors.
A directional map is provided below for your reference.

Is your Reading Log Filling Up? Schoolwide Reading Incentive
How many minutes do you have logged? The March goal is for all of our students to read at least 76,000 minutes and the incentive for reaching that goal is going to be a whole school pajama day!
Students were provided with reading logs to record their minutes read. By the end of the month, however, they need to log in to a Google Form and record their total minutes read for the month. This Google Form will be accessible from their Google Classroom. Here is a video that we are sharing with the students explaining it a little more clearly. Thank you for all your support at home!
Updated: PA Travel Requirements
PA has lifted any travel requirements for out-of-state travel. No longer do people over 11 years old or older need to provide a negative test or quarantine if they have traveled out of the state.
Free Lunch for Every Student in CR Extended through End of School Year
CRSD has communicated information to families about our free lunches for all students. It really is FREE and it is for ALL students! Through a waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, CRSD will be able to provide all students in the District with lunch on school days at no cost to families. The free lunches are available to both in-school students and 100% virtual students.
In addition to the great choices available for children, each day they have the option of pizza or a fun lunch. Also, all meals come with fruit, vegetables, and milk.
A la carte items (e.g., snacks, ice cream, and certain drinks) are NOT included as part of the free meal and must be paid for the student’s lunch account. A la carte purchases will be deducted from the account after purchased.
Please contact the cafeteria manager at Wescafeteria@crsd.org if you have any questions.
If you would like your child to purchase snacks or additional menu items, you may add them to your child's lunch account using the button below. Please note, you do not need to add to this account to take advantage of the free lunch program for all students.

Library News for Virtual Students
Virtual students are able to check out Library books. If you are interested in learning about how to do this please visit your child’s Library Google classroom. The link is in the classroom under the heading Virtual Book Check out or click the button below.
Chromebook Support
Students/parents should use our help desk system at the following link: https://crsdstudent.sherpadesk.com
The system will allow students/parents (student ID is required to submit a ticket) to submit a ticket for help. It will also allow them to see the status of existing tickets.
The first time they use the system, they will need to set up their account. This will require a unique email address, the location where the student attends school (this is a required field), their first and last name, a phone number where they can be reached (if additional/different contact information/preferences are desired, they can be included in the body of the request), the type of issue (called class on the form - this is also required), the student ID (this is required), a subject or brief description of the issue, and then the details about the issue.
To see the status of a ticket that was submitted, they can click on that option, log in with their email address and password (set during account creation).
We will continue to monitor the chrome support email address but will refer parents/students to the ticketing system if they have an issue or problem that needs to be resolved.
The two biggest advantages to this system are that the ticket will go directly to a technician, and the parent/student will be able to see the status of the tickets they have entered.
