Welcome to Omaha Virtual School
January 6 Start Date
Congratulations, you are finished with the enrollment process! Please add the following dates to your calendar. On orientation day, please come to our learning center in the Omaha TAC building at 3215 Cuming St. We are located on the 4th floor. You may park in the main lot and take the elevators in the lobby to the 4th floor. Our administrative area is just to the left when you get off the elevator. Please report here on Monday, January 6.
Tip: If you are using GPS to find us the first time, it typically routes you past the parking lot. If you are coming from the Interstate, you will want to turn left onto N. 30th and then the first right onto Burt St. The picture below illustrates this, and it also shows where you will drop off for middle and high school in the future. Please just park and come up on your first orientation day.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at virtualschool@ops.org.
Orientation
Your first week of Virtual School, you will be coming to our learning center three times. Please see the schedule below.
Monday, January 6, 9 am-12 pm
Learner and learning coach will attend this day. We will be issuing device, going over how to log into learning management system, and discussing handbook. If you would like to purchase the $20 device protection for your student, please bring cash or check.
Tuesday OR Wednesday, January 7 or 8, First Face-to-Face Day
This will be your learner's first day of class, either Tuesday or Wednesday, based on your chosen day. Learning coaches will stay during learner's session because they will be meeting with a learning coach mentor during this time. Learning coaches will be going over K12 navigation, setting a schedule, tracking progress, pacing guides, and more.
K-5th grade: 9 am-12 pm OR 1-4 pm, Tuesday or Wednesday
Middle School: 8:30 am-11:30 pm OR 12:30-3:30 pm, Tuesday or Wednesday
High School: Tuesday, 8:30-12:30 and Wednesday, 11:30 am-3:30 pm
Thursday, January 9, 8:30 am-10:00 am
ALL learning coaches (parents) required, only 6th-11th grade students should report. If you have a K-5 student, please find childcare if at all possible. We have found that this is a crucial day, and elementary age learners can be distracting during this time.
