EES 2020-2021 Kindergarten Registration
It is important for us to get our new kindergarten students registered for the upcoming school year as soon as possible. Believe it or not it is already time for us to work on classes for next school year. Obviously there are a few challenges during our current crisis, but we are able to provide forms on our school website for you. Even if you do not have all of the information at this time, please do as much as possible and we can add your child to our list. When the office opens back up we can always get the remainder of the information.
Complete the following steps to register your child for Kindergarten:
1.Complete the two forms below online and email them to april.boswell@boone.kyschools.us
**Enrollment Form**
**Transportation Form**
2. Scan the following documents and email them to april.boswell@boone.kyschools.us
-Birth Certificate
-Social Security Card
-Immunization Certificate
-Proof of Residency (this could be ONE of the following- utility bill, driver's license, lease, closing papers, etc)
3. Other items that will be turned in to the office later include:
-Current yearly physical (due in within 30 days of first day)
-Eye exam (due by Jan. 1, 2121)
-Dental exam (due by Jan. 1, 2121)
If you have any issues completing the above steps or need assistance please contact April Boswell at the email address above or by calling 859-384-7200.

Update for April 21st
From Your Principal, Mrs. Pass
Thank you for your constant collaboration, flexibility and great ideas Mrs. Taylor! We will miss your humor, passion for literacy and your friendship.
See below a message from Mrs. Taylor:
"... after a lot of prayerful consideration, I have definitely decided to retire. I’ve submitted the retirement application to TRS and signed the district’s “letter of intent” as not returning next year. So, the ball is rolling!
While I am excited about this next phase, my heart also aches. I walked the halls of Erpenbeck Elementary with EESs first principal, Joy Sallee, wearing a hard-hat during its construction. I was young and expecting my second daughter then. My husband served on the school’s first PTA.
I’ve worked with five, different, school-administrative teams and seen faculty come and go. Many of which completed their student teaching at EES; got married and started families.
Later in life and quite unexpectedly, I found out I was expecting our third child at an “advanced maternal age.” It was the faculty and staff at EES that were there to cheer me on.
I’ve listened to and shared thousands of stories in the beloved library; I’ve “worn many hats“ and loved many children. Now, it’s time for me to go. I hope to return to the halls of Erpenbeck Elementary, the school that I adore and love, as a substitute teacher in the fall.
In the meantime, I’ll continue to support the school admin team, faculty, staff, and students in any way that I can, as we navigate through the remainder of COVID19. I’ll certainly be happy when we’re reading about C19 in history books!
My Best Regards,
Belinda Taylor "

District Food Update ***UPDATED 4/16/2020***
Beginning Monday, April 20th, Boone County Schools will begin delivering food three (3) times a week; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. All current food delivery locations will continue to be utilized. All food will continue to be delivered at 11:30. Two breakfast meals and two lunch meals for a total of 4 meals will be provided for all individual requests. For example, Monday food deliveries will provide 2 meals for both Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday delivery will provide 2 meals for both Wednesday and Thursday. Friday food deliveries will also consist of 4 total meals.
Last Day of School
Children Inc (Learning Grove) External Pre-K and K Program
Because of our growing student population, we will not have the space to host the Children, Inc (now Learning Grove) Preschool or extended Kindergarten programs in our building next year. We will still have our Boone County Preschool and our regular kindergarten classes. We have enjoyed a great relationship with Children Inc in the past, and we liked being able to provide that extra service to our families. However, we need the classrooms to meet the needs of our EES students. This will not impact the before or after school program provided by this organization.

Chromebook Care At Home
Chromebook Procedures for Use
Chromebook General Precautions:
§ No food or drink should be next to Chromebook.
§ Make sure that all cords and cables are inserted/removed carefully and into appropriate port on the Chromebook.
§ Do not put heavy items on the Chromebook.
§ No stickers or similar items should be placed on the Chromebook.
§ Have a safe place to store/charge your Chromebook at the end of each day.
Carrying Chromebooks:
§ Always transport Chromebook with care.
§ Carry the Chromebook (cover closed) with two hands. Give it a HUG when carrying it!
§ Never lift a Chromebook by the screen.
§ Never carry a Chromebook with the screen open.
Opening the Chromebook:
§ Open the Chromebook when it is resting on a flat surface such as a desk or table
§ To open a Chromebook, use one hand to hold the keyboard against a desk/table. Use the other hand to open the screen by grasping the screen’s edge (in the middle) and gently move the screen to the open position.
§ The hinge of the screen will only allow the screen to be open to a slight angle.
§ Do not attempt to open the screen beyond this stopping point as the screen will break if forced.
§ Chromebooks have a 180-degree rotating camera. Please take care when rotating the camera. To avoid breaking the camera, do not over-rotate it or move it excessively.
Closing the Chromebook:
§ Before closing the screen, make sure there is nothing on the keyboard to prevent the full closure of the screen.
§ Close the screen only when the Chromebook is on a flat surface such as a desk or a table.
§ Close the screen gently with both hands – on at each corner of screen.
§ When you are finished using the Chromebook – log off the Chromebook by clicking your picture and SIGN OUT.
§ At the end of Chromebook use please SHUT DOWN the Chromebook by clicking in the bottom left corner.
*We are so happy that as a school we were able to send Chromebooks home with every child that needed one. That being said, we do not have unlimited technology to check out so it is very important that students are caring for devices properly. It costs our school greatly to get these devices fixed or replaced.
