Stanton High Schools' Latest News - Volume 3
From Our Principal
Many have asked about high school open house/meet the teacher. This year we are going to try something new. On September 25 from 7:30 am - 8:30 am Stanton High School will host "Donuts with Grown Ups". Students are encouraged to bring a "Grown Up" with them to school (parent, grandparent, guardian, etc). We will have donuts, issue 1st 6 weeks report card and we encourage Grown-Ups to make their way around to their child's classroom. We are planning for a large turn out and can't wait for you all to meet our staff. (Flyer Below)
Our attendance rate is currently 96.83%, compared to 95.87%this time last year. This 1% has made a huge difference in the education of our children. Thank you all for making sure the kids are getting to school!

Mrs. Hernandez
A new buffalo is Mrs. Katherine Hernandez, Stanton’s new environmental systems teacher who happened to have graduated from Raider Land! Although she graduated from Texas Tech University, she is originally from Virginia, so she is a long way from home. She had some teaching experience in Odessa, Texas. However, this is her first year being a full-time teacher, so students, please take it easy on her because we don’t want to scare her away from the profession. Hernandez’s favorite thing about Stanton so far is her students. She says they are extremely respectful and she looks forward to really making sure her students are absorbing the material in learning mechanisms that they enjoy. One cool fun fact is she is absolutely crazy in love with cats; mean, nice, big, small, white, or purple she loves them ALL!
Coach Padilla
Coach Adrian Padilla has joined Stanton ISD from Miles, Texas where he has been teaching for one year. Coach Padilla teaches Spanish. He wanted to teach a foreign language because he grew up in a hispanic household and thought he’d be best at teaching the language since it was his first language. So far, he has really admired how the community is so close-knit. Coach Padilla is a huge dog person, like huge. He does not consider them pets, but his children instead. That being said, it is apparent that Coach Padilla is a passionate person and wants to make in impact on the students and try to teach them as much as he can about the hispanic culture.
Mrs. Cervantes
Mrs. Cervantes is Stanton High School’s new secretary. She comes from Greenwood ISD. She was there for eleven years, so she is quite familiar with Stanton and was comfortable and more than happy making the move. Mrs. Cervantes loves her job because she loves and cares for kids and would like to help them succeed in life. Her seven siblings helped her gain the patience to deal with kids all day and helped build her leadership skills. Her main goal is to be seen as influencer to students and encourage them to make the right choices and be someone they can openly talk to. Mrs. Cervantes main goal for Stanton ISD is to create unity among the faculty and students, so they can become more dependable and trusting of one another. So, if you see the overly cute homestyled decorated office that Mrs. Cervantes loved decorating, just know you are in a friendly space and feel free to be yourself as she wishes.
