SHISD Mid-Week Message
Promoting Great Things in a Great School District
Testing Week. This week had Spring HIll ISD and the State of Texas giving a majority of students a STAAR test. I want to thank Dana Robertson for doing an outstanding job of training, organizing, and facilitating the district's testing program. As superintendent, I am very proud of the organization and professionalism campus administration and teachers exhibited this week administering the STAAR test. Thank you to all of the teachers and staff who kept the students mind at ease, encouraged them, fed them and supported kids this week and all year. The work you do for our students is noticed and appreciated.- Steve Snell

- I wanted to thank all the track athletes that went above and beyond for their teammates. There was a small group of outstanding tracksters that cheered proudly for their teammates during the district meet. As a coach it reveals the integrity and character of our kids when they are willing to help push their own teammates to achieve their best. It takes a team to win, and I am lucky that there are those who see it. - Coach Eudy
- Kudos once again to Roger Askew for doing such a great job every morning directing the Primary parent traffic and keeping everyone safe.
- Kudos to Beau Vincent. You did a great job pinch hitting for Mrs. Parker at Monday's board meeting.
Good luck to our athletes competing in the area track meet today: Ann Hollas, Mikai Brown, Emily Alahmed, Jenna Peterson, Jacob Tomme, Kase White, and Hagen Tucker. We are proud of you!

An author among us
Senior Tristan Jensen began writing a book his junior year. “Day Runners” is a youth fiction/thriller about two high school students stranded on a deserted island following a plane crash.
“I always dreamed about getting published,” Jensen said. “When I finished the eleventh chapter I realized I might actually finish the whole thing.” Jensen used online publishing site www.lulu.com to piece together the book, as well as the cover. “I’ve already started working on my next book,” he said. “It’s in the same genre, but a different story line."
“Day Runner” has sold approximately 40 copies since its publication, not including e-book sales through Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble, to name a few.
“I've always enjoyed writing,” Jensen said. “It’s a relaxing hobby.”

Jr. High Bands receive First Division ratings and earn Sweepstakes!
Submitted by Panther Parent Robert Dunaway:
Congratulations to both our Jr. High bands for their performances this week at U.I.L. Concert and Sight Reading Contest.
Both bands received straight First Division ratings and earned Sweepstakes.
Thanks to Mr. Josh Perry and Mr. Jacob Pipak for all their hard work and dedication to their students. This, my friends, is why we have such a successful music program at Spring Hill I.S.D.!!!! All our directors and staff are involved from the time the students pick up an instrument for the first time until they graduate. Each of our directors apply their knowledge, skills and talents to helping every student to realize their potential and achieve the highest level of personal musicianship. The consistency of the program throughout the different bands is definitely a cornerstone of the Blue Brigade.
