Coleman's Chronicle
17-18 2nd grade
Week of September 11-15
Welcome to 2nd Grade!
This week is High Attendance Day! Let's try to beat the other schools in the district with attendance.
Thank you for sending in the Times for Kids money ($5). If you have not, please do so. We are going to use these during our reading time. Students will be learning about nonfiction. They love to read"real" things.
If you haven’t sent your child’s mid-term back signed, please do so ASAP so I can start scheduling parent conferences!
We are starting reading groups in class now. Starting Thursday students will bring home a leveled book that we have been working on in class to read at home with you. Please sign the reading log sheet and send back on Fridays! Thank you!
XTRAMATH- This is a GREAT math program that will help the students build fluency with their math facts. This is something we will do in class, but won’t get to every day. They can practice this at home and it is VERY helpful if they do. I will have them write their pins in their agenda's. If you have any questions about this, please let me know. If it asks for my email, it is this school address.
I have attached the spelling for this week. Students will get their spelling PRE-TEST back on Monday and they will know what list they are on. If your student misses 0-2 then they will do list TWO, if they miss more than two words then they will practice list ONE for that week. It sounds a bit confusing, but once we all get into the routine, it will get easier. Please email me if you have any questions.
