SC Living Flag Day! Get your special t-shirt orders in ASAP!

We want everyone to participate in our YES Kick Off SC Living Flag Day on May 23 at 8:30 AM. We will gather on the MMS football field to form a living SC Flag. We want our ENTIRE SCHOOL COMMUNITY TO PARTICIATE! Invite friends and family to join us. Order forms went home last week on a blue sheet of paper. Get those in so that we can have everyone on the field. What an exciting way to celebrate the birthday of SC! The proceeds of this t-shirt sale will benefit Pinckney Scholarship Fund, The Midlands Flood Relief Fund, and Camp Courage in the Upstate for children cancer and other life threatening blood diseases.

Hub City Mobile Market Coming To MMS May 25th! Have you had purchased your veggies today?

Come to the Hub City Mobile Market on May 25th from 1:00-3:00 in the MMS parking lot! The market is sponsored by the McCracken YES class "What's Growing On?!?". There will be lots of fresh, local veggies to buy & donations will be accepted!

Pin Cancer! Wrestling For A Cause YES Class

Our YES program we will be teaching fundamental wrestling skills and teaching students the screen printing process. We have teamed with Pin Cancer is a call to action to help defeat the world’s toughest opponent by rallying the greater US wrestling community in the fight against cancer. They are allowing us to use their logo in our printmaking portion of our YES class that we hope to sell during our POL. We also have a website created for specifically for our YES program that can take direct donations. We have set a goal of raising $1000 dollars Please assist in any way that you can.

Pin Cancer is a registered 501(c)3 charity. All proceeds go to building awareness on all types of cancer as well as research initiatives at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Are you looking to clean out your storage areas?

Do you have any items of furniture that you just cannot look at anymore?

Do you have old tins, washtubs, metal cheese graters, 1970’s throwback vases ?

Please Donate them To Ms. Abbott-Powell’s YES class: A Repurposed Life!!!!!!

Students will be learning the tools of how to take what you have a Repurpose it for another life!!!

We would love wooden furniture, no couches please.


If you have old chairs, tables, chest of drawers, Desks, Coffee Tables, Pallets…. We would love them!!!!!!!

Field Trip Permission Forms Are Due NOW!

If your child has not turned in his/her permission form for his/her field trip, please send those in first thing Wednesday morning. YES teachers need those ASAP. We are looking forward to an exciting week of learning.

May 21st is our 5K Run/Walk: Hustle For Habitat!

Our Highly Effective Athletes YES class is sponsoring a 5k Run/Walk at Milliken at 9 AM on May 21st. For more information please contact Ms. Lawson at or call the school at 594-4457. We hope to see lots of our McCracken Families at this event.

Presentation of Learning Day Is May 27! Save The Date!

Our Presentation of Learning Day is a way to experience YES with your child. All students participate in this powerful day by presenting what they have learned and sharing this information with all of our guests. All of our business partners and you are invited. Come experience what we have learned in this education extravaganza on May 27th from 8:30 to 11:30.
