Pennyslvania Junior Academy of Science Competition
Congratulations to all CB South students who participated in the State Meeting of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) competition that occurred at Penn State University in University Park, PA. South did particularly well, with all students earning the top award, three students earning a perfect score, and Isabella Swartz earning the top award in the state for her category (Director’s Award in Biochemistry is a single prize in biochemistry given only once for Pennsylvania) as well as a scholarship offer from Penn State (Eberly College of Science Scholarship for $8,000). Reminders for 19/20 School Year.
All students entering 12th grade are required by the PA Department of Health to have a second meningococcal vaccine before the start of the school year. If documentation of the vaccine is not received by 9/10/19, your child will be excluded from school per the Department of Health.

- All students entering 11th grade are required to have a physical exam on-file per PA Department of Health. Please submit these forms to the nurse's office. If your student has a PIAA Sports Physical, she or he will not need an additional physical form. The Physical Exam Form is available on CB South's Website.

Friday, June 14, 2019 HALF DAY for 10th and 11th Grade Students (7:25 - 10:40 AM)
- Seniors meet at designated time for Commencement.

CB South Athletics
The softball team's 2019 season came to an end during a 1-1 week. The final overall record is 13-9, 9-3 in the SOL Continental (2nd place).
On Monday, May 20th, the Titans opened defense of their 2018 District One 6A title, hosting a First Round District playoff game and walking away with a convincing 8-2 win over Pennridge - the third meeting of the season with the visiting Rams. Senior Alexa Ortman had 2 hits, including a double, with 2 RBI’s and 3 runs scored while senior Kate Hammond chipped in with 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Senior Kylie Kenney picked up her 12th victory of the season (her 15th complete game), hurling a 3-hitter with 11 strikeouts.
On Wednesday, May 22nd, CB South's season came to an end at Pennsbury (the second contest with the Falcons in less than a week) in the 2nd Round of the playoffs, 10-2. Kylie Kenney capped off her 4-year Varsity career with her first career home run, a 2-run shot in the top of the 4th inning. Alexa Ortman ended her 4-year Varsity career by collecting lifetime hit number 123 in a Titan uniform (a leadoff single in the st inning). Seniors Kate Hammond (2-for-3), Rebecca Brennan (sacrifice bunt), Amanda Regan, Amanda Poole, and Olivia Zoolalian also donned the CB South Softball uniform for the final time.
All-SOL Continental selections were made on Tuesday, May 21th. The following members of Central Bucks South Softball earned honors:
1st Team: Kylie Kenney (pitcher)
Alexa Ortman (outfield)
Maddie Rowley (outfield)
2nd Team: Tara Tumasz (third base)
3rd Team: Katie Hines (2nd base)

The JV team dropped its regular season finale on Friday, May 17 to Central Bucks West by a score of 5-3. They finished the season with a record of 10-7. Great job to all JV players and coaches.
Baseball
The Titans began district playoffs on the road versus Coatesville on Monday, May 20th. Owen Petrich and Ryan Rieber were great on the mound and helped secure a 5-3 victory for the 17th seeded Titans. Jake Trachtenberg, Connor McKeown, and Zach Steinberg all had 2 hits. Ryan Rieber finished with 3 RBIs including the 2 RBIs to break the 3-3 tie.
The 17th seeded Titans traveled to #1 seed Pennsbury on Wednesday, May 22nd. Joe Martino started on the mound to earn the and Brock Veit threw two scoreless innings for the save. The Titans pulled off the upset with a score of 6-5. All 6 runs were scored in the 3rd which was ended by a monster 3 run home run by Sophomore Owen Petrich! Seniors Joey Loynd and Brock Veit both had 2 hits. Jake McKeown, Bryan Rossi, and Jake Trachtenberg each had an RBI.
The Titans travel to #9 seed Bensalem in the District Quarterfinals on Friday, May 24th for their chance at the State tournament!
Girls' and Boys' Track and Field
Congratulations and Good luck to the following 2019 PIAA Track and Field State competitors this weekend:
Michael Cannon Jr - 200 (5th in District 1 Championships)
4x800 Relay of Jared Fenessy, Tate Prudish, Owen Moelter, Gavin Campbell (2nd at District 1 Championships)
Also, congratulations to Ryan Ruggiero in Pole Vault for placing 6th at District 1 Championships last week.

Attention Fall 2019 Athletes!
A makeup fall concussion presentation and impact test is scheduled for June 11th at 3 PM, in the cafeteria for any athletes who missed the May 13th meeting. This is mandatory for any athletes who will be trying out for a CB South team in the fall.
Family ID will open June 3rd for Fall sports registration. Administration is in the process of updating documents on the site.
