Preparing for Academisation
for Headteachers and Senior Staff
The recent government announcement that all schools must become academies by 2020 makes it vital for schools to be fully informed about the conversion process.
Octavo is proud to offer impartial advice to school leaders from Stephen Smith, an experienced, independent, project manager. Stephen will give you an overview of the process of converting which will allow you to keep your focus on the school improvement process.
We will be running two sessions on 26th May which will enlighten delegates of the process of becoming an academy, the decisions you will need to make and the actions you will need to manage.

The Principals Room, Croydon College, College Road, Croydon, CR9 1DX

- the Funding Agreement with the Secretary of State and its implications;
- the land transfer arrangements and agreements and, where appropriate, the 125 year lease;
- how the transfer of the school’s assets are dealt with in the Commercial Transfer Agreement;
