Thank you for your partnership and support throughout the year. Your involvement in your child's education, your support, and your collaboration with our staff have been instrumental in creating a strong and nurturing learning environment. Your trust and active engagement are truly valued.
As we prepare to embark on a well-deserved summer break, I want to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a safe, rejuvenating, and joyful summer. May this time be filled with opportunities for relaxation, exploration, and quality time with loved ones. I hope you find moments to disconnect, recharge, and create lasting memories.
Thank you once again for your outstanding support, collaboration, and partnership. It is through our collective efforts that we have created a thriving school community. I am filled with gratitude for the privilege of serving as your principal, and I look forward to the continued growth and success of our school community.

The NED Show: Mindset Mission Assembly
On the afternoon of field day, June 9th, Green Meadows will have an assembly at 1:30 p.m. The assembly is called NED's Mindset Mission. Here is the gist...Ned and our students will take a journey to find their "positive mindset". The show is filled with storytelling, humor, illusions, and amazing yo-yo tricks where kids learn the hidden message in NED's name:
Never give up- understand The Power of YET
Encourage others- spark courage in other people
Do your best- always be learning and growing
The week following the assembly, June 12-16th, Green Meadows will have a school yo-yo sale. We will also create a "Ned Zone" out at recess so students can use their yo-yos and practice the tricks they learn from the show. Here is a video preview. Please see the Family Letter and Student Order Form below. A hard copy will go home with students on June 9th. (Checks should be made out to HWRSD).

Thank you, Hampden PTO!
On behalf of the Greem Meadows community, I would like to express sincere gratitude for the incredible support and dedication that the Hampden PTO has shown to our school community this year. The tireless efforts of the PTO have made a significant impact on our school, enhancing the educational experience for our students, and fostering a sense of community among students, parents, and staff. This year they have supported our community in numerous ways. They have helped to fund the sets for Annie Jr. They have also helped pay for various field trips like the 8th-grade field trip to the Science Museum and the in-house kindergarten field trip from the Connecticut Science Museum. They have also funded the Staff Appreciation Luncheon and helped to plan and run the Scholastic Book Fair. They are currently planning the End of Year Playground Party. Again, we can't thank you for your hard work, dedication, and unwavering support. A special shout-out to Rachel Adams, Shannon Michael, Julia O'Connor, Jennifer Bagge, Robyn Lemus, Cara Canedi, and Jessica Barrett for their support this year!

Staffing Changes 2023-2024
There will be staffing changes at Green Meadows School in the coming year due in part to declining enrollment at Green Meadows in grades 6-8 and in part to ESSER funding (pandemic relief funding) coming to an end. Next year, Green Meadows is saying goodbye to our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Donovan, and one of our School Adjustment Counselors, Mrs. Gelinas. Mrs. Donovan has been an integral part of our school community, bringing enthusiasm, dedication, and a deep commitment to the academic and personal success of our students. Her leadership, support, and unwavering advocacy for our students and staff have left a lasting impact on our school. Mrs. Gelinas has been a compassionate and trusted resource for our students, providing guidance, counseling, and support to help them navigate both academic and personal challenges. Her commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school climate has been instrumental in creating a safe and supportive learning environment for our students. Both Mrs. Donovan and Mrs. Gelinas will be dearly missed. I am confident that they will continue to make a positive impact in their new school communities. Their knowledge, experience, and passion for education will undoubtedly benefit the students and staff they will be working with in their new roles. Mrs. Donovan will transfer to Stony Hill School where she will teach Grade 3. Mrs. Gelinas will transfer to Wilbraham Middle School where she will continue to work in the role of a School Adjustment Counselor. I am asking families to join me in expressing heartfelt appreciation to Mrs. Donovan and Mrs. Gelinas for their exceptional contributions to our school community. Students have not yet been made aware of these changes for the coming year. I am asking families to please discuss these changes with their children. We will be sure to provide opportunities for students to say thoughtful goodbyes to both Mrs. Donovan and Mrs. Gelinas. We will miss them dearly!
