A NOTE FROM MRS. DONNELL

The Senior Class of 2019 spent this past week in New York City! What a wonderful trip we had. We hope you enjoy the pics and make sure you ask some of the Seniors to share their favorite moments from the NYC trip! May we all continue to pray for each of them as they set out on the next phase of their lives and that they continue to glorify God in all that they say and do.

Next week is very event-filled. We have graduation ceremonies, Field Day, awards ceremonies, field trips, and final exams. We also need folks to work the Indy 500 store to help fund our Athletic Department.

As the days quickly pass this next week may we all be diligent in “finishing strong” and remember these words from Proverbs 22:29.

Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his business? He will stand before kings:...

May each of us “Finish Strong” and have the joy of standing before kings as the 2018 - 2019 school year draws to an end.

Blessings,

Mrs. Donnell

ELEMENTARY SUMMER ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES 2019

CCS is very excited to announce that we will be offering several ways for the staff to stay in touch with our students. Our CCS Elementary staff will be presenting fun enrichment activities for students to participate in both online and at CCS throughout the summer break.

ONLINE: Teachers will be sending out email messages every Thursday to all of our elementary students’ parents giving instructions on fun, exciting enrichment activities that students can do and send back to the teacher. There will be points/prizes awarded for students who participate throughout the summer sessions.

We will be posting fun Tuck-In Tuesday videos every Tuesday evening on our Social Media sites for all students to enjoy. The staff will be sharing their favorite bedtime stories.

At CCS: Select Wednesday mornings (June 5, 12, 19, 26 - July 10, 17, 24) from 9-11 AM, staff members will be hosting hands-on enrichment activities. Two staff members will be on site to facilitate the activities and share the love of Jesus with the students who attend. There will be a contest among the grade levels for a class party at the beginning of the year. It will be based on the percentage of the classroom that participates in the on-site activities. PARTICIPATING STUDENTS CAN BE DROPPED OFF NO EARLIER THAN 8:45 AM AND MUST BE PICKED UP BY 11:10 AM.

MidSummer Night Hang out: Tuesday, June 25th from 6:30-8 pm. Families are encouraged to come with their lawn chairs to visit while the students hang out. We will have cold water and chips/pretzels. This will be a great opportunity for old and new families to get to know one another. We hope all of our families will mark their calendar to join us for some relaxing fellowship.

1ST & 5TH GRADE BASEBALL IN EDUCATION

Four days a year, Victory Field transforms itself into the largest classroom in Central Indiana when Baseball In Education takes over the ballpark. Throwing baseball into the curriculum engages students and helps them learn English, Math, Science and History in exciting new ways. Learn more about the program.

1st and 5th grade students were part of that large classroom, getting to watch the Indianapolis Indians play against the Scranton/W-B RailRiders. Great catch on that foul ball, Landon!

"PLAY BALL!!!"

One of our first graders was the official announcer at the Indians game for Baseball in Education.

CADET TEACHERS

One of the sweet things about a PreK-12 school is the seniors serving as Cadet Teachers in the elementary grades. The kids love them so much and it allows them to see what it looks like to be a "big kid" who loves Jesus. This preschool class loved their special helper, Chloe, this year!

Avoiding Chore Wars

The lines are drawn; kids on one side with you on the other. The firefight of words draws an explosion of anger from all involved. Your children say things like, “It’s not fair!” “Why do I have to do all the work?” “You don’t love me!” Consider this resource, Avoiding the Chore Wars, a peace treaty to end the fighting. You’ll find tools to help you talk to your kids about responsibility, age appropriate chore lists, and more.
