Often they know the bliss of success and the sting of set backs. In this workshop, students will participate in activities, through dialogue and reflection, using elements of the student leadership challenge and social change model to find what truly moves them to purpose.

Activism has been on the rise for students and higher education professionals. Being a “Social Justice Warrior” refers to how individuals promote elements of bystander intervention to counter homophobia, sexism, transphobia, racism, etc. This interactive workshop will discuss traditional and non-traditional methods towards being an activist for adverse causes impacting members of marginalized communities. This workshop will provide tips on active and passive ways to utilize your voice in speaking out against injustices.
What is the FSLC?
The conference focuses on building self-awareness and developing tools to understand oneself as a leader. This year's theme is, "Leading with Purpose". The Office of Leadership Development's intention is to focus on increasing students' knowledge of self-awareness and then provide workshop sessions designed around finding and leading with purpose. Our conference will be kicked off by keynote speaker James T. Robilotta. Robilotta is the author of Leading Imperfectly and is dedicated to helping leaders everywhere ditch the notion that you have to be perfect to be a leader.
