Central PTO Converting to PTA
At the January 9th PTO meeting, a unanimous decision was made by the board to begin the process of converting the Central PTO to a PTA. Our goal is to be fully converted for the 2014-15 school year. The benefits will include, but are not limited to:

• Having a organization that is compliant with IRS and state regulations in a cost effective manner with the support of the Indiana PTA

• Obtaining 501(c)(3) tax exempt status as a unit of the National/Indiana PTA which would make eligible donations to Central PTA tax deductible

• Training for PTA board members and assistance in audits and required annual filings to make it easier for current and future board members

• Supporting the Indiana and National PTA organizations that serve as an advocate for our children and their education

• Access to Indiana and National PTA resources, training, information, programs, and discounts

For a small annual due, parents and teachers may join the PTA to get access to the resources the Indiana/National PTA have to offer and have a voice in PTA meetings. More information on this will be available after the next meeting. Membership will not be required for you to be able to attend or volunteer at Central events. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact one of the Central PTO board members. This year's Silent Auction will feature two auction times with a great variety of business donations and classroom creations.
