TAs brighten our hallways!
Happy Sunday Families!
Last week, we held awards day in classes, celebrated Mrs. Ybarra and Mrs. Andrews for National School Counseling Week, and enjoyed Club Day. On Saturday, Emeri, Emerald, and Abigail represented us at the All-County Honors Chorus Concert at Northside High School. This week, students will receive their Valentine Grams on Monday and practice a lockdown drill on Thursday.
The lottery opens on Monday. If you currently attend Clyde Erwin, paperwork was sent home last Friday for you to let us know that you will be returning next year. Please make sure you return this to your teacher this week. You will not need to re-enter the lottery. Also, if your child has a sibling who will be a Kindergartener, their seat is guaranteed as well.
Looking ahead, on 2-22-22, we will celebrate twos day! Students are encouraged to wear ties, tutus, tennis shoes, and twin with their friend. If students participate, they will not need to wear their uniform.
Important Reminders:
1. Monday- Valentine Grams are delivered
2. Wednesday- Strategic Planning Team meets @ 3:15pm
3. Thursday- Lockdown Drill
National School Counseling Week
National School Counseling Week 2022 (#NSCW22) is Feb. 7-11, and focuses public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week, sponsored by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. This week, we are celebrating Mrs. Erica Ybarra.
Mrs. Ybarra graduated from Texas State University majoring in both Psychology and Communication Studies. She then went to pursue her Masters from Texas A&M University-CC in Counseling with an emphasis in School Counseling, as well as earning her teacher’s certification. As a previous classroom teacher, she has knowledge of the school system, teacher stressors, and academic obstacles. She has also completed the Texas A&M University SPARC program, specializing her in child and adolescent adjustment and resiliency.
“Working in the school system has always had such a special place in my heart. Being able to impact children from all walks of life, filling them with optimism and hope for their future is where my passion lies.” #takingflight
