Descriptions of the Turning Points
9/11 was a major turning point in American History because a lot of people died and was an important day to a lot of people in this world because they lost loved ones. 9/11 was important because Osama Bin Laden was the one that was the reason that the twin towers fell in New York City on September 11, 2001.In the U.S. on that day terrorists attacked by using the airplanes to crash on the towers in that day. They also crashed in the Pentagon is Washington. And in Pennsylvania in a field. In 1968 was a major turning point too because a lot of things happened that year that was also a turning point. "President Johnson announces he will not seek or accept presidential renomination". Martin Luther King Jr. civil rights leader is killed in Memphis April 4, 1968. James Earl Ray is sentenced to 99 years for killing Martin Luther King Jr. Robert F. Kennedy is shot and wounded in Los Angeles. Jamestown is also a major turning point because it was the first English settlement in what would become the U.S. It was located in Jamestown Island in Virginia. Roanoke was also important in the American History because The Roanoke Colony also known as the Lost Colony was organized by Sir Walter Raleigh. Under a charter granted by Queen Elizabeth.
Martin Luther King Jr.
He was important because he was the Civil Rights leader. He believed in nonviolence because he was Christian. He wanted equality because he didn't think it was far because they were a different color.
Sir Walter Raleigh
Sir Walter Raleigh is important because he was the one that organized the Lost Colony or The Roanoke Island. Queen Elizabeth told him to find it. He was popular for having tobacco in England.
Event Information
The Most Important
I think that the most important one is the Roanoke Colony because if the British people didn't find it no one would have known that there was land in the East of them. People wouldn't be living here and Europe would be full of people their because no one would have found the U.S. except the Indians because they were already living here.
