Weekly Update

Week of Nov 8-12

Another great week at Cascade Locks Elementary. Reminder there is a time change this weekend and clocks "fall back" one hour.

On Mondays, students should in their seats and ready to learn by 8:35 a.m. Drop off time is between 8:15 - 8:30 a.m.

On Tuesdays - Fridays, students should in their seats and ready to learn by 7:35 a.m. Drop off time is between 7:15 - 7:30 a.m.

When students are late by 5 minutes each day, they lose 25 minutes of learning time per week. Over a month, that's more than an hour of class time.

REMINDER: We live in the Pacific Northwest Students will go outside for recess, no matter the weather. Please ensure that they are dressed appropriately. Rain coats are better than hoodies. If students wear a hoodie outside and get wet they then end up sitting in their wet clothes all day. If your child needs a rain jacket please let us know and we can help out! Also, its is getting cold. Hats and gloves/mittens are nice when it gets cold. Again, if your child needs any of these let us know we can help! We do not have a daily indoor recess option for students. We will only have indoor recess when it is unsafe to be outside (ice, extreme winds & rain, freezing temperatures that could cause frost bite).

At-A-Glance School and District Profiles

The At-A-Glance School and District profiles can be found on our District Website, which tell a story about Oregon’s schools and districts. The story is harder to tell this year as the COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted our schools and the data we collect. As a result, statewide assessment and attendance data cannot be compared to prior years and are not shown on these reports. The state has included links to their website where you can view the 2020-21 statewide assessment and attendance data and read a detailed description of how these data were impacted. We’re thankful for your partnership as we focus on care, connection and the creation of safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments.
