Peek of the Week 1/18/16

"Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”

Principal Message

Team: A few of you dropped in to talk to me about your engagement reflection after the faculty activity. Candor and communication goes a long way. This activity was very reflective for me as well, and I will post the results of the Gallup Questions on padlet. There is no doubt that we all want the best education experience for our students at JRE, and we are the team that can make that happen. I was not surprised that our results did not mirror most schools based on the Gallup results because I see the energy your engagement creates on campus, but our goal should be to help other team members reach their next level of engagement. I am open to hearing from others; help me help you.

PD January 18th

We know you will find the professional development purposeful and productive. Please sign up on Eduphoria to get the credit. Breakfast is on your own. Wear your spirit wear with jeans.

For Primary they ask that you bring sharpies, highlighters, post- its, class rosters and current DRA scores to our training on Monday? Also, don’t forget binders and dividers. If you need help with these items, e-mail Ashley Wenckens.

Student Work Display Reminder-Get them up and ready before parent night!

If you have not updated your student display outside your classroom, this is the time to do it before parent night.

Please refer to the Faculty Handbook page 19:

Display Student Work

Teachers are responsible for keeping student work display current and presentable. We want to show off the best student work in our hallways. Student display should be changed out monthly. Student display should be labeled with TEKS objective and include a writing component.
