One-Day High School Field Experience
Several Degree Programs
The Nutrition program is a five-year program, with the opportunity for motivated students to secure an internship and sit for the national registration exam. Marywood students' pass rates are higher than the national average!
The bachelor's degree in Exercise Science prepares students for careers in the health and wellness field. Marywood also offers a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, allowing students to be employed as athletic trainers. Additionally, both degrees prepare students for graduate studies in physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician's assistant, and the allied health field.

Athletic Training and Exercise Science Agenda:
9:45-10:45 a.m. - Student Breakout sessions 1 and 2 (See Below)*
9:45-10:45 a.m.- Parent Session- Admissions & Financial Aid
11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.- Tour of campus, Lunch, and Q&A Panel
12:30-1:15 p.m.- Breakout Sessions 3 & 4 (See Below)*
* Breakout sessions will be held in the Center for Athletics and Wellness (choose to attend the activities that interest you most).
Morning:
1.) Taping
Students will learn several basic taping techniques with a hands-on laboratory session. They will learn basic taping application for a variety of joints, ankles, fingers, wrists, and thumbs.
2.) Wingate Testing
Interested students can test their anaerobic power output with this 30-second all-out effort on the cycle ergometer. Results can be compared to age matched normative data.
Tour, Lunch, and Q & A Panal
Afternoon:
3.) ACL Risk Assessment/Neurodynamic Movements
A highly interactive breakout session in which students gain an understanding of how assessment tools can be utilized to find dysfunctions and correct body movements in order to move better.
4.) Field Exercise Testing
Participate in a variety of field tests used for professional athletes including the shuttle run, vertical jump, and the pro agility test, and then compare your numbers to the pros.
