Introduction
The Great Barrier Reef is located in the coral Sea off the coast of Queensland.It is the worlds largest living structure/coral reef system.It is so big that it can be seen from the moon as it covers a huge area of 35 million football fields.The Great Barrier Reef was declared a marione park in 1976 and is listed in the world heritage site.
Flora/Fuana
The Great Barrier Reef is home to a wide range of marine life, including fish,Sea Turtles,Gaint clams,Seahorses,sea snakes,sting rays,sharks and a whole range of coral nad many many more.
There are:
*1500 types of fish
*400 types of coral
*26 types of whales & dolphins
*4000 types of snails & clams
*100 types of starfish
Threats or dangers
The biggest threat to The Great Barrier Reef is climate change which changes the ocean temperature which means the marine life and plant life dies.The coral also is decreased by the crown of thorns star fish and sight seeing people walking on the coral.People also chucking rubbish and the fish swallowing it and choking on it.
However the coral is gradually decreased because they are eaten by the crown of thorns sea star and from sight seeing people walking on the coral.
Possible Solutions
Recycling is a great way to help The Great Barrier stay beautiful and its marine life stay healthy forever so everyone can see what it looks like in the future
