A family Newsletter

Welcome Back!!

What an exciting week it has been!! It has been so much fun watching the students come in each day excited to see their friends, meet new friends in new classes, get to know their teachers and be so excited about their education! Teachers and staff have been preparing for weeks for a great year and it has definitely started out that way!!

This next week is an exciting time for our Baxter Family as each of our students receive their ipads! How Blessed are they that we have a District that is continually providing for and preparing our students for their future!?! It's such a joy to see our students engaged and empowered each and everyday and we are excited to be able to add this tool to further enhance the experience!

Looking forward to a great 2017-2018 school year!!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

A huge shout out to our PTO for providing all staff and students with a new Baxter T-shirt to start off the year!! We are so Blessed to have so many parents who work hard to make the educational experience for our students the absolute BEST!! It's only the first week of school and they have already provided the staff with breakfast and lunch, gifted every staff member a gift card to use in their classroom, planted flowers out front, as well as the campus shirts! We love seeing the parents up here investigating in the education of our kids! What a great partnership!! Please follow the PTO on facebook at www.facebook.com/tebaxterpto/. If you haven't joined already, there is still time to do so!! Check out the information below!

Golden Nuggets from the Counselor

After-school Questions:

Sometimes asking “How was your day at school?” might only get you a “Fine.” or “Good.” answer. Instead ask questions like these for a better picture of your student’s day:

  • “What’s the coolest thing that happened? What wasn’t so cool?”

  • “If you were the teacher how would you describe how your day went?”

  • “What made you laugh or smile today?”

  • “How did you help someone else today?”

  • “Was anyone helpful to you today?”

These types of questions have your student process their day rather than just giving one word answers while giving you more insight into your student’s school day.

A Quick Note from Nurse Martin

I am looking forward to a fun and healthy school year. I am needing your help to make that possible. If your child has a medical condition that requires any medication to be kept and administered at school please visit this website for all of our medical forms http://www.misd.gs/Domain/78

I have copies of all these forms and I am happy to send them home with your child if you will let me know.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
