Note from the Principal
Dear Boeckman Creek Families and Friends,
As we enter into the Holiday Season I have been thinking about the many reasons I have to be grateful, and I am struck with the generative nature of gratitude.
Here are a few of the many, many things in my life in which I am truly grateful…
- I have the health and strength to do work that I love.
- The Boeckman Creek Community is supportive, and has embraced the unique circumstances that we find ourselves in this school year.
- Our school secretaries and office staff are AMAZING! They organize and help us all, and they do it all with smiles!!
- We have a PTA that figured out a way to make the traditional BCPS Fun Run happen even in the midst of a global pandemic.
- I have the privilege of slipping into classrooms each day to be delighted by our children!
- The amazing teachers I am able to work with, teachers who show up each and every day committed to their students learning and well being.
- We have technology available to us, that allows us to come together and connect.
- We have building engineers who have worked tirelessly to prepare for the time we get to come back to our school in person.
- I have the wonderful delight to hear stories from our teachers of endurance and triumph they witness each day.
- I have the privilege of serving as the principal of Boeckman Creek Primary School!
My wish for each of you this holiday is time where you are able to reflect upon the blessings and silver linings in your lives.
Happy Thanksgiving~
Lindy
FUN RUN UPDATE
The PTA would like to give a big heartfelt THANK YOU to all the students who participated in the virtual fun run! So many of you put on your fun run shirts, laced up your running shoes, and finished your 1 mile in the cold November weather.
We are so proud of our Boeckman Creek Bobcats!
Online pledge donations will be accepted until the 30th of November. So, there is still time to raise support to earn your Bobcat Wristbands!
We would also love to see your Virtual Fun Run pictures! If you have one that we can share on our virtual slideshow, please send it to Jessy at jessyde@gmail.com. THANK YOU!
COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARD
We would like to bring attention to the WLWV Community Bulletin Board on the District Website. This has many helpful family and community resources such as parenting classes, short term community events, childcare information, food resources, and public library notices. The Community Bulletin Board is specific to primary schools in the Wilsonville area. Check it out!
Holiday Support is Available for Families in Need
The holiday and winter season can cause stress for families that are experiencing financial hardship, especially during these challenging times. We have many organizations and community members that have offered to partner with our school to offer financial support to families to purchase coats, shoes, or holiday gifts.
If you are experiencing need this season, please contact BCPS school counselor Julia Carr via phone or email (503- 673-7757, carrj@wlwv.k12.or.us) or Jackie Franzen (franzenj@wlwv.k12.or.us) to be connected with our holiday giving program. We look forward to helping make this holiday season special for our wonderful Boeckman Creek families.
Snowflakes of Support
This year things will look a little different, but we hope the support and generosity from our amazing community stays the same! This year we are asking that donations come in the form of gift cards in the amount of $25 to either Fred Meyer or Target. Please feel free to buy as many cards as you feel compelled to contribute, which we will then distribute to our families in the spirit of love, kindness, and giving. We ask that the cards be delivered to the front office no later than Friday December 11th. Thank you so much for your generosity. For questions, please email Julia Carr, BCPS School Counselor: carrj@wlwv.k12.or.us
Meals-An Important Update
Beginning Wednesday, December 2nd, the WLWV School District will transition to a new meal delivery system that will remain in place for the duration of the school year. If your children are or will be receiving meals through the school district please note:
- It is important that you fill out a meal delivery form for each student needing meals.
- The easiest way to do this is to fill out an online Google Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSciulF9oduUjVCSzRWIb1BNmNVwFFd28uViUH0NxqM82JkSUQ/viewform. You will receive a confirmation email upon submitting. Or, families can also fill out a paper form which can be found at the school office.
- Applications submitted after November 20 may take up to a week to be assigned to a delivery route. Families waiting for their assigned delivery date may still pick up meals at West Linn or Wilsonville High School.
- A Meal Delivery Registration Form needs to be filled out for every child receiving meals through the school district. Meals will continue to be available for all children age 18 and younger who reside in the district boundary regardless of school attendance.
- Beginning December 2, meals will be offered exclusively through this new delivery system.
- For more information, please visit the Nutrition Services website or call 503-673-7992.
As a reminder, a family must reapply for Free and Reduced Meals each year. Here is the link to reapply or to apply if you think your family might be eligible.

Remember to report absences
Even while students learn at home remotely either in Comprehensive Distance Learning or through the K12 Online Program, regular and authentic engagement remains important. We know that regular engagement can be challenging in a remote learning environment. That being said, we care very much that students continue to regularly participate in their classes in whatever schedule or routine your student and family have created this year.
If your student is going to miss a class or activity, it is important to inform the school office ahead of time when possible. Parents can do this by using ParentVUE, by calling the school office at (503) 673-7750 or by emailing laschobs@wlwv.k12.or.us. Students in the K12 Online Program should also use ParentVUE or alert their teacher and program director if there are going to be any changes in a student’s engagement.
Looking for Resources to Boost Internet?
Internet Hotspots can boost internet bandwidth for families engaged in online learning. This can be particularly helpful for families with multiple students participating in the Online Program or Comprehensive Distance Learning simultaneously. Please visit the district website’s IT webpage for more information about resources available across West Linn and Wilsonville. We will continue to update the webpage as resources become available for use or purchase.
