Blaze Bulletin
Edition 35
Greetings...
Teachers,
Think about this quote...
What is productive struggle vs struggle (with no adjective)?
What are some key words in this quote that point to really educating students?
Can the word mathematics be changed to any subject?
Key idea?
I'm so inspired by you as I walk the building and see you working with students. Keep up the great teaching!

Greetings from the Blackman High School ESL Department. Our office is located between C-14 and C-16. Please stop by to see us if you have any questions. We look forward to working with all of you this year in supporting our ESL students at BHS.
Each week, our department will be highlighting tips on ways we can support ESL students in the mainstream classroom. Below are tips that have been effective with the students:
- Allow for students to use their phone to translate on the Google Translate app.
- Provide instructions visually on the board or projector.
- Provide extended time on assignments.
- Build in more group work that fosters speaking skills at a lower-risk setting.
