What's Happening Week of 3.19.2017
First United Methodist Church Trussville Children's Ministry
Did you pick up your Flat Jesus today?
Flat Jesus follows the Flat Stanley concept. No matter where you are headed over Spring Break we are asking everyone to snap and share photos of Flat Jesus with you and your family on our children's ministry Facebook Group: Trussville Methodist Children's Ministry.
Lenten Airlines Friday, April 14 at 4 pm
All kids are invited to board Lenten Airlines on Friday, April 14th at 4 p.m. as we travel to Jerusalem. Kid will get to experience the Upper Room with the disciples, spend time with Jesus in the The Garden, and meet Garcias, a Roman soldier. An interactive trip your child will not forget.
Jesus Walks on Water Matthew 14:22-33; Mark 6:45-52; John 6:16-21
“They were terrified, but he called out to them,
‘Don’t be afraid. I am here!’ ”
(John 6:19-20).
While the disciples are out in their boat, they see someone walking on the water toward them. They think it’s a ghost, but it’s Jesus! Peter gets out on the water with Jesus but starts to feel scared and sinks. Jesus saves him, because Jesus calms our fears.
Family Together Time
- Cut pieces of duct tape to look like waves. Blue duct tape looks great, if you have it!
- Have family members each tape the pieces to the bottoms of shoes they’ll wear a lot this week.
- Walk on water! Wear your shoes and walk on the waves!
- Whenever you see the waves, pray and remember that Jesus will calm your fears.
Talk About This…What fears would you like Jesus to calm this week?
