Cloud Computing & Computer Science Academy at Glendale High School

The Cloud Computing & Computer Science Academy at Glendale High School is designed to prepare students for computer science related fields. Students will take college credit courses based on the Amazon Web Services curriculum framework in cloud computing and computer science career pathways courses. This will be part of the students' high school schedule that leads to industry certifications and a cloud computing certificate.


Students apply for the program in the 8th Grade to begin in the 9th Grade.

20 Students Completed Their Cybersecurity Externship!

Twenty students from various Glendale Unified middle schools & high schools started their 2-week Cybersecurity Externship last month!


Students had the opportunity to explore numerous career paths in computer science & cybersecurity while gaining foundational knowledge in data protection, incident response, and digital analysis.


We are so proud of their efforts and the various connections they made with industry experts.

Student Wins $3500 Culinary School Scholarship!

One of Chef Boykin's Hoover High school advanced students entered a culinary competition for his pastry and won third place. Jimmy Barrera Campio has won a $3500 scholarship per semester at the Culinary Institute of New York! Congratulations Jimmy!

GEN YES Certified!

Angelica is the first young lady to be GEN YES Certified in the history of Wilson Middle School's GEN YES program. The requirement for TAPS (teacher assisted projects) is 100 and she completed 339 TAPS.

She is also the founder and leader of the GEN YES/Wilson News Team.

GHS Culinary Student Wins Recipe Contest and Wins 1st Place!

Congratulations to Aya Baker from the Glendale High School Culinary program for winning 1st Place and receiving a cash prize in the Impossible Foods - Plate to Planet Challenge!


Students were challenged to submit original Impossible™ Burger recipes that draw flavors, ingredients and inspiration from each chef’s family heritage. Aya's dish was made with four main ingredients: the Impossible Burger, tofu, spinach and rice.


We are so proud of her accomplishment and we look forward to seeing her continued success.

Academy of Science & Medicine Students at CVHS Win at HOSA Competition

HOSA = Health Occupations Students in America. HOSA Bowl provides members with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills on various topics and situations in health, HOSA, and parliamentary procedure.The Academy team of Ashley Park, Megan Parada, Eric Markarian, and Kevin Dong won GOLD in the HOSA Bowl at the 2021 HOSA State Championship. The next step will be the national competition in June!

GHS Culinary Student Wins C-CAP Education Scholarship!

Congratulations to Katie Wiest from the Glendale High School Culinary Program for winning the $3,000 C-CAP Education Scholarship 2021.


During the C-CAP LA 2021 Scholarship Awards Ceremony, Katie thanked her family and teacher Chef Pugel-Gamez for helping her and inspiring her to reach her goals.


Congratulations Katie on all of your hard work and determination in the culinary program!

Clark Magnet Students Earn Medals at CA SkillsUSA Competition

CTE students from the various Career & Technical Education pathways offered at Clark Magnet earned medals at the CA Skillsusa State Conference. Two students qualified to compete in the national competition this June! Congratulations to all the students!
