Join these great young American musicians for a landmark meeting between the people of Havana and this quintessential American Rock Music tradition! The trip includes an in-depth look at the city and great musical experiences. You can be part of this unique and historic musical adventure by joining us from Wednesday, February 3rd to Tuesday, February 9th, 2016. This seven-day, six-night trip is focused on accompanying Rhett and Daphne to their major concert date at the FAC. In the process you will meet and get to know everyday Cuban people, experience different genres of Cuban music (salsa, son, rock, jazz) with Rhett and Daphne at the best and most innovative music venues, meet musicians and composers and visit artist studios. You will experience the wonderful architecture of Havana, dine at the best home restaurants (Paladares), and get to know the city and the people of Havana. Your trip leader will even take you to a baseball game at the a game at the famous Latino Americano Stadium if the Cuban League schedule allows. You will be staying at the historic Hotel Capri which was very recently restored. All activities will be consistent with the US Government “People to People” General License.

Daphne Willis
Daphne Willis was born in San Antonio, was raised in Chicago, and makes her home now in Nashville. Drawing from an eclectic mix of influences that includes Elvis Costello, Ella Fitzgerald and even Michael Jackson, Willis’ effortless combination of soul, rock and pop empowered by uniquely witty lyrics simply soars.
John Oates (Hall & Oates), who co-wrote and collaborated on Daphne's last album, "Live To Try", is gushing in his praise for Willis. “Daphne has a voice that you can't deny and will blow your mind,” boasts Oates. “Combine that with the fact that her new record is killer...and what more do you want? Great playing, production, songwriting...and oh yeah did I mention her voice? Yes, I did!!”
Known for her exuberant and compelling live performances, Willis is beloved by music fans of all ages. She is Eric Nadel's favorite singer-songwriter and he frequently introduces her music to newcomers with three simple words, "Everybody loves Daphne."
Rhett Miller
Rhett Miller is the front man and main songwriter of the hard-charging rock ‘n’ roll quartet Old 97’s, as well as an accomplished solo artist. In addition to his nine studio albums with the Old 97’s, he has released six solo albums.
Rhett’s music has been featured in countless films, television shows and commercials. Rhett appeared in an episode of the NBC series 30 Rockand the Old 97’s were featured in the Vince Vaughn/Jennifer Aniston comedy, The Break Up.
Primarily known for his songwriting and awe-inspiring live performances, Rhett is also a critically-acclaimed author whose work has appeared in several books and such well-known periodicals as Rolling Stone, McSweeney’s, and The Atlantic.
Born in Texas, Rhett resides in New York’s Hudson Valley with his wife and two children.
Meet your tour leader Eric Nadel
Eric Nadel is an experienced Cuba watcher and has traveled to the island on multiple occasions for Baseball and to guide visitors who want an in depth understanding of the reality on the island. He is the winner of the 2014 Ford C. Frick Award from the National Baseball Hall of Fame, has been broadcasting Texas Rangers baseball for 37 years. He has learned Spanish to better communicate with Latin American players and has traveled widely in Latin America, taking part in baseball broadcasts in Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Cuba. Eric is a seven-time recipient of the Texas Sportscaster of the Year Award and a member of the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in Political Science.
An avid music aficiando, Nadel hosts an annual birthday benefit concert in Dallas. He has served as the Music Director of Vagabond, booking the musical talent for the Greenville Avenue club.
