What are Genital Warts?
Genital warts are warts that are located near or in genital areas.
Transmissions
It is passed from person to person through intimate sexual contact. (Vaginal, oral, or anal sex)
Signs and Symptoms
There isn't many signs or symptoms, but a doctor can diagnose warts by examining the skin closely. They may also use a Pap smear and other tests to diagnose it.
What can the disease do to someone if left untreated?
The warts may grow bigger and multiply. They may also lead to cervical cancer.
Prevention
- Abstinence
- Use a latex condom (may not always give full protection)
- Vaccine
Treatments
There is no cure to completely get rid of it, but treatments can reduce the number of warts. The warts could disappear but the HPV virus will still be there. A doctor might remove them using laser therapy chemical "freezing."
