SBMS Weekly Updates

September 30, 2017

It's hard to believe that it's already October in the boro'! This will be an action packed month that will include the end of our football and softball seasons and the beginning of girls soccer and wrestling, spirit week, orchestra and chorus concerts, career day, fall festival and the book fair. You will want to mark these important dates on your calendars and take advantage of the many opportunities to be involved in our school community.

This past week was another great week in the boro'. Our Lady Pirates did an outstanding job in their games against New Bridge and Northwoods while our football team continues marching through the season undefeated. Our 8th grade band performed at the high school football game on Friday night and a good time was had by all who attended our first dance of the year.

This week we will host a softball game at home against Jacksonville Commons on Monday and our football team will visit Dixon on Wednesday for a 4 pm game. Wednesday is also college spirit day. Students are encouraged to wear their favorite college t-shirt and the homeroom with the most participation with receive donuts on Thursday morning. Clubs are also in full swing in the boro'. Students had a great time yesterday at the FCA Field Day at Northside High School. Club activities this week include an Odyssey of the Mind interest meeting on Tuesday and Chess Club on Friday. Students need to see club sponsors for more information and please remember to sign up on our after school activity link. All Candyman orders are due back on Tuesday and that is also Papa John Pizza Night. Finally, this week is Custodian Appreciation Week. Please take a moment to say thank you to our team of custodians who do an outstanding job caring for the needs of our campus.

Fall Festival

Our Pirate Parents are hard at work planning for the Fall Festival on Friday, October 27, 2017. We need volunteers to help coordinate the festival as well as donations of colored hair spray, 2 liter sodas and wrapped candy. Please help us make this a success by sending one of these items in to the homeroom teachers. The next Fall Festival planning meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in the Pirate Parent building.
