Message from Jeanne Krapfl
Cypress Families,
I want to take this opportunity to introduce Mrs. Bridget Lovelle as our new Assistant Principal. Unfortunately, our last AP returned to his former county in Manatee, but we are so happy to have Mrs. Lovelle join our Cypress Cubs! She has been in Pasco for many years, was a classroom teacher, a school-based coach and the last several years she travelled all over our district coaching in the content area of Math. She will bring this strength to our team and help support our mathematicians all over campus.
I also want to thank you for your continued support in two critical areas: safe bus rides to and from school as well as having positive attendance in school. We have many initiatives for attendance being led by our school Social Worker, Mrs. Taggart. She is a tremendous support in helping families overcome barriers to positive school attendance. We are here to help in any way possible. Growing up, I was a student who struggled with poverty, having what I needed for school, and ultimately it impacted my attendance. The resources from school could have helped me in my younger years so I encourage you to reach out to Mrs. Taggart at btaggart@pasco.k12.fl.us or you can call her 727-774-4545

Great American Teach-In
The Great American Teach-In is a special event dedicated to
exposing students across the nation to wonderful and exciting career choices. This is an opportunity to inspire young minds and encourage tomorrow’s work force.
We are inviting parents and friends in the community to give 10 – 20 minutes to come in and talk to your child’s class about your job or hobby. During the day we schedule other fun speakers and presentations for our students to visit, as well.
Out of Field Teaching Assignments as of 10/1/2023
Individuals who are teaching out-of-field are certified in at least one area and are qualified to teach but are required to take additional course work or testing to add a coverage/endorsement to their certificate. The state also requires a teacher to take coursework/in-service towards an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement, when the teacher is the primary language arts provider and/or reading teacher for an ESOL student.
The following teachers have agreed to teach out-of-field while completing course work/in-service/exams: Kelli Hughes, Arthur Porter, Leigh Miller and Melissa Triana.
The following teachers have agreed to work towards the ESOL endorsement: Megan DeBlare, Bryant Foreman, Kelli Hughes, Jennifer McCormack, Nicole Miller, Melissa Triana and Racheal Wodstrchill. Melissa Triana has completed all requirements for her ESOL Endorsement, and we are awaiting FLDOE to clear the out of field tag.
The following teacher has agreed to work towards the Gifted endorsement: Ashley Bodemuller
The following teacher has agreed to work towards the ESE endorsement: Grace Lopez

NOTICE TO BUILDING OCCUPANTS AND PARENTS NOTIFICATION OF INSPECTION FOR ASBESTOS CONTAINING MATERIALS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS
The Environmental Protection Agency has issued a final rule, 40 CFR Part 763 Subpart E, Asbestos Containing Material in Schools. This rule requires all Local Education Agencies to identify asbestos containing materials in their school buildings and to take appropriate actions to control the release of asbestos fibers.
An Asbestos Management Plan for Cypress Elementary has been completed and describes the results of the inspection, if applicable, and the action plan to control any asbestos found during the inspection. A copy of this plan is located in the administrative office of this school and at the Pasco County Schools Maintenance & Facility Services Department and is available for review upon request.
