Update from the OMS Library

School Closure Update: 4/22/2020

Big picture

Dear Families and Staff,

While we miss seeing the students and staff face to face, we have been staying in touch with many of you via email and zoom meetings. We are doing our best to support families and teachers during this surreal time, but we are definitely looking forward to the future when we can return to the library!

Sincerely,

Ms. Tremble & Ms. Sturdivant

Technical Support for Students and Staff

Zoom Meetings with Teachers

We are meeting virtually with teachers each week to find out how we can collaborate and how we can support teachers during this time.

Check Out Limits Changed During Pandemic

In an attempt to make sure students had plenty of books to read during their time away from school, we changed our check out limits on March 13 (the last day of face to face instruction). We raised the limit of books to 6 books per student, and we allowed students who owed late books/fines to check out books. We ended up checking out 479 books on March 13 (as opposed to 31 books on March 12). Here are few of our happy customers from that last day.

Class Registration for 2020-21

We have been working with Mr. Firley to set up a virtual registration process for all grades for next year using a dedicated website and online forms. He will be sharing more information about this in early May.
