Goal Setting With Our Buddy Classes In The New Year
DRE stars went on a scavenger hunt to review school-wide expectations during the month of January. Students were given clues to figure out that sent them to a location to review expectations for each area of our school. We also had buses come to our school to practice our bus expectations. Our stars did awesome!
During our first few weeks back from winter break, students met with their buddy class to complete a New Years-themed buddy activity. The students reviewed what it means to set goals and how we can achieve those goals in 2016.

Discovery Ridge Elementary Takes #10 in the State
Last year, Discovery Ridge students raised $13,323 during our Jump Rope for Heart campaign for the American Heart Association. Discovery Ridge was the number one school in the Wentzville School District and the top 10 fundraising school in the state of Missouri, saving 288 lives! Our top student, Olivia Fehling raised $515!
Let’s raise $15,000 for the 2015-2016 school year! Our campaign will run through the month of February, Heart Month! It takes heart to be a hero, to make a difference in somebody's life! Let’s do it together!

New Alert Messages
In an effort to keep all parents informed about their child’s progress in school, the WSD will began sending automated weekly emails with personalized attendance (K-12) and grade information (6-12). This started on Friday, January 28th. Studies show that students are more likely to be successful when they have good attendance and support at home, so this initiative is designed to assist parents in that regard. To check on your student’s progress anytime, simply log in to the Parent Portal. If you don’t have a Parent Portal log in, fill out the Registration Form and bring the completed form to the DRE office in person. You will be asked to show a photo ID when you register. Together, we can help maximize the potential for your child to be successful in school.
