The FCS Culinary Students, along with Ms. DeMarco and Mrs. DeMartino, went to Brooklyn for the Museum of Food and Drink's "Chow" exhibit which included a lesson on history of Chinese-American food culture accompanied by chef demonstration and tasting. They then journeyed to Time Square for Traditional NY pizza and a visit to the Madam Tussaud's Wax Museum. Check out the slideshow here.
The Manchester High School Jazz Ensemble participated in UCONN’s first ever jazz festival on March 15. MHS was given a prime performance spot during convocation, which is a class that all college music majors attend. All participants received a workshop from a faculty member (Professor Mastroianni is pictured working with MHS), attended instrument-specific master classes, and listened to other school groups perform. The next big event for the MHS Jazz Ensemble is being the warm-up band for the US Army Jazz Ambassadors at 6:30 on March 26.

The students pictured above were the winners of the MHS Core Value t-shirt for the month of February. These students were “caught” doing something in alignment with our MHS Core Value of the Month, Integrity. A couple students shared with us the reasons they received their Core Value ticket.
“Helped a new student around the school and had to help translate because she didn't know any English.”
“Found and returned a teacher's belongings.”
