Mill Creek Directory and Yearbook
Student school photos for purchase and for use in the yearbook will be taken prior to mid-December (we are still working out a date with the C&C photographer, as they are currently focusing on secondary schools for student ID purposes). There will likely be two dates to accommodate both hybrid groups. Families who are virtual at that time will be contacted by C&C (once we have dates set) and have the opportunity to visit C&C Studios to have their child's school photo taken. If you would prefer that your child's photo not be used for media purposes, please update this in the Parent Portal under "Media Use" and click "No-I do not consent to media use" (the default is "Yes-I consent to media use"). If you do not consent, you can enter a comment that you are still okay with your child's photos appearing in the yearbook, if you would like.

From the Desk of Mr. Murtha
Well, it is about to get a lot livelier around here with the return of our in-person traditional and hybrid students, starting with the traditional students on Wednesday, September 30. No matter what school looks like on a particular day this year, the sun will always rise over Mill Creek (although sometimes hidden by clouds... it will still be there!), which reminds me that every day is a new day with new things to learn!
Please take a few minutes to review the Traditional/Hybrid Return to School Information and Tips PowerPoint if you have not already done so. I think it will be very helpful to our parents and community members. Also, it is a good idea to pack the following daily personal care items to come with students:
- Chap stick
- Small Hand lotion
- Travel pack of Kleenex
- Extra mask
We very much look forward to the excitement of next week!

Assistant Principal
Temporary Communication Change
Unfortunately, due to a recent medical procedure and recovery from that procedure, I will be out of the office for a period of time (hopefully a short period of time). In my absence, if you have positive feedback, questions, or concerns for us, please reach out to Mr. John Murtha at jmurtha@cbsd.org, or you can call the main office at (267) 893-3600. I look forward to being back soon, and I wish you all a wonderful start to the school year!!!
Sincerely,

Modified Kindergarten Orientation - Tuesday, September 29
Following up on our Back to School Night from last week, we are offering the opportunity for our Kindergarten families to participate in a Modified Kindergarten Orientation. This will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 29 between 12:00 PM and 3:30 PM. In preparation for traditional students coming in person on September 30 (and hybrid students thereafter), most of the District teachers, including our Kindergarten teachers, will post asynchronous instruction on Tuesday, September 29. This allows teachers to engage in some final preparations during the morning of September 29, and it allows us to have Kindergarten families come in that afternoon. The asynchronous instruction will be posted for both AM and PM in the morning, so both groups can engage in the learning at whatever point works for your respective family throughout the day. Our Modified Kindergarten Orientation will look as follows:
- Families will use their Kindergaten teacher’s link below to sign up for a 15 minute time slot.
Ms. Thomas - Modified Mill Creek Kindergarten Orientation Sign Up
- 3 families per classroom (3 for Ms. McMullan; 3 for Ms. Thomas) will be permitted to visit during one time slot.
- It is up to families as to whether they want to bring their Kindergarten child.
- We are inviting families, but we also ask that you limit the participants to no more than mother, father, and Kindergarten child, if possible.
- Mr. Murtha (Mill Creek Assistant Principal) will meet families in the main office at the start of their time slot and provide a 5 minute modified tour of the building.
- Families will spend the remaining 10 minutes with their child’s respective Kindergarten teacher in their respective classroom.
- Virtual families are welcome to participate as well, if they choose.
- For traditional/hybrid students, we recommend bringing in your student’s supplies when you visit.
- Please be sure to wear a facial covering when you visit.
Thank you very much!
Welcome Mr. West to Mill Creek!
The 3 modes of learning we are offering has necessitated some teacher movement and sharing. One of the benefits to this is that we get to welcome some new teacher faces to Mill Creek! We will include more faces in the weeks to come! This week, please welcome...
Mr. Marc West- Art Teacher
I am one of the new art teachers that will be here at Mill Creek this year! This is my 5th year teaching art in CB (my home school is Buckingham), and I taught art in the Quakertown Community School District for 5 years before coming to CB. I am looking forward to working with all of you this year!
