The Road to Success
It is never too early to start thinking about how the next 4 years will impact life after high school. In the freshman year, it is important to start planning out your high school experience, as well as, thinking about what types of colleges and careers might interest you and seeking out opportunities to learn and grow!

Revise Your Four Year Plan
You have made it through a year of the New Tech High experience! As you enter Sophomore year, it is important to reflect and revise your 4 Year Plan. Below you will find a link the University of California 4 Year Planner, a helpful resource in mapping out your high school experience:
Napa Valley College Courses
We generally don't recommend students to think about taking Napa Valley College courses until at least Spring of their Sophomore year. New Tech High students are required to complete at least 12 units (20 high school credits) of UC transferable college courses. Here are some helpful tips when thinking about what courses might be appropriate:
- What courses might be good entry points to the college experience?
- What other activities do I have going on that might be affected by college classes?
- Do I know the difference between high school classes and college classes?

Saturday Academy College Support Workshops
We have launched a new Saturday Academy workshop series for Senior families. This four week series will allow you and your students to dive deeper into exploring the RIGHT choice for your higher education experience. In working with professional college consultant, Heidi Hamler, we are able to provide this series at a reduced cost of $100 for the entire series (additional scholarships available). This reduced cost is provided due to the generous support of Family Giving and the Friends of New Tech. Please see the flyer below. Completed forms should be returned to the New Tech office and the first workshop is September 17th!
