A Note From the Principal
We are excited about the 60 students who returned this week. This put our percentage of on-campus students at 72% (467 students) and our percentage of CONNECT students at 28% (183 students). We ask for your continued diligence in screening your child each morning for COVID symptoms as well as ensuring they wear a face mask every day.
This year continues to challenge us, however, our Jaguar families and staff continue to face the challenges and do what is best for our Jaguars. We appreciate your support and flexibility as well as your dedication to keeping our school community safe and healthy!
Our Next Remote Learning Day will be February 12th.
On-campus learners will take home independent work prior to Feb. 12th that should be completed and returned in order for them to be counted present. A device will not be required for the work they are bringing home. They will need to return the work no later than Tuesday, Feb. 16th. CFISDConnect students will complete independent work online that day.
There will not be any live teaching as this will be a day dedicated for our teaching staff to prep and plan.
We will also send home shelf-stable meals on Feb. 11th to our on-campus students to take home for the Remote Learning Day.In order for your child to be marked present on remote learning day, students must return their packet to school on February 16th.

EXCITING PBIS REWARDS NEWS
Our school is utilizing PBIS Rewards to support our PBIS initiative. That sounds great, but how does PBIS Rewards help?
PBIS Rewards is a digital platform that allows any staff member to recognize any student, anywhere for meeting behavior expectations. These behavior expectations are defined, communicated and taught here at Jowell. When your child displays the expected behaviors, they are recognized for it. The points earned through that recognition may be used to purchase items from the teacher’s PBIS store.
How does this benefit you, the parent?
As a parent, you can monitor your child’s progress and stay engaged with the PBIS Rewards Parent App! The PBIS Rewards Parent App is a great tool for you to stay connected and engaged with the PBIS initiative. Be on the lookout for information in mid-February.
PBIS
What does PBIS stand for? Positive Behavior Interventions and Support. PBIS is a proactive positive systems approach for creating and maintaining safe and effective learning environments in schools. The matrix is divided into learning environments. Last month we focused on the RESTROOM matrix. This month we encourage you to review PAWS matrices for our Jowell Technology.
