News from Lions Park School
Letter from the Principal
Dear Lions Park Families,
As we finish our fifth week of school, I hope your families are back into the routine of school. Our staff appreciate all you do at home to help your students be so successful in school. We appreciate the support you provide to your children with study and homework completion. If you ever have questions or concerns, please start by reaching out to your child's teacher. He or she will be glad to help you to better understand the context or expectations for an assignment. I know it can sometimes feel like you are a detective when trying to figure out how to help your child with homework, but please remember we are here to help and answer questions.
Student safety is always on our minds at Lions Park. One area where I believe we can do better as a school community is our drop off and pick up times. The location of our school next to a large park is a benefit in many ways, but it makes for a very congested arrival and dismissal. We have many staff members outside each day to help things run well, but we also need your help. Please follow the signs around the school. I know it can be very tempting to pull into an illegal parking spot for just a moment, but this can then cause other drivers to drive erratically to get around you and then pose a safety risk to students and their families. Please also remember that you may not use the staff parking lot for drop off or pick up. It is also best to avoid walking through the parking lot. Following the guidelines keeps our students safe and sets a good example for them about how to be good citizens.
As announced last week, Lions Park is now on Twitter and Instagram. Please follow us on one or both!
