Golden Gate National Recreation Area

Dear Park Friend,

You are invited to join Golden Gate National Recreation Area staff to learn about current and upcoming projects in the park. Come anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. to meet staff, talk to project managers, and let us know your thoughts. There will be a project-specific presentation about captive rearing of coho salmon beginning at 5:30 pm. Meet the Roving Ranger, our mobile trailhead vehicle designed to serve as a visitor contact station.

There will also be door prizes of cool parks gear, and light refreshments will be provided.

A few of the projects that will be represented are listed below. A more detailed agenda and links to project information will be sent out approximately 2 weeks before the meeting.

Trails Forever Update

Staff will discuss the ongoing and future projects occurring throughout the park.

Ocean Beach Fire Revised Pilot Program

Nearing the end of a 5 month period to determine the viability of the beach fire program, staff will be present to share information about the data collected during this time and answer any questions about the program.

Ocean Beach Update

An overview of new and continuing projects at Ocean Beach, including Sand Management, Seawall Repairs.

Fire Management Projects/Strategy

Fire Management Officer Jordan Reeser and staff will talk about fire-related projects from the past year, status of ongoing projects, and planning for future projects.

Redwood Creek Coho Captive Rearing Project

The coho captive rearing project is a collaborative effort between multiple agencies and organizations in response to the extreme drought. A representative from California Department of Fish and Wildlife will give a presentation on this topic at 5:30 pm.

Aquatic Park Promenade

Staff from our neighbor park, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, will be sharing exciting future improvements to the Aquatic Park Promenade.
