Talent Show

Do you have talent? Talent Show application packets are available from your homeroom teacher and the front desk. Please read the packet carefully and have them turned in NO LATER THAN Wednesday, March 18th. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Williams or Mrs. Cuckler.

Talent Show Auditions:

Tuesday, March 31 and Wednesday, April 1 (after school)

Friday, April 24 (evening - 6:00 PM

Vocabulary Parade

Science Club

Due to the closings and weather delays the next group of Science Club will not begin until the week after Spring Break on April 2nd.

The 2nd Science Club Group (going on now) will have their final meeting this Thursday, March 5.

Youth Art Month

The Youth Art month exhibit opens on Mar. 15 at Huntsville museum of Art with a reception for the artists.

Here are the artists, and their work, that will represent RIS in the 2015 YAM exhibit:

4th Grade Iyanha Jones - Penguin in the Snow

5th Grade Noah Jackson - Deer in the Snow

6th Grade Gracey Goldsby - Glass Still Life

March 17: 3rd grade students from Riverton Elementary and Mt. Carmel Elementary will visit RIS

Honor Society inductions will be March 19th at 6 PM. We will meet in the gym and then have a short reception in the lunchroom.

March 19 - Report Cards

BMS Cheerleading info:

Cheer Try-outs March 18, 19, & 20…3:30-5:30 in the BMS Lunchroom.

Baking Club

Students who attended the Baking Club in February will have the opportunity to make up the sessions on an alternate day. They will not make up the days on Thursdays in March because there is another group that will be meeting then. Parents and students will be contacted this week.

April 14-23: ACT Aspire

May 6: Sixth grade students will visit Buckhorn Middle School

Please remember to send Doctor’s notes or personal illness notes written by a parent anytime your child is absent. Students are limited to 8 personal illness notes a year.

We are working to have 98% attendance everyday!!!
