HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 1 Week 7 Friday 18 March
FROM MARK
Hi Everyone,
Thank you to everyone involved with our Teams meetings for the School Advisory Council and our P&F. The medium still takes some getting used to but it forms an important part of the communication fabric of our school. Speaking of communication, we are averaging 650 hits per week to our newsletter - a big number by any measure for a school our size. Thank you for staying in touch.
I hope you enjoyed a happy St Patrick’s Day yesterday! We did at school, but with a difference, with the opening ceremony for Stage 11 - Our admin, and the Siena Centre. Again, we continue to do business but do it differently. Ordinarily this is an event involving much of the school community, but in these times there was just a small group - Holy Rosary School Advisory Council Chair Ryan Denham, our Parish Priest Father Peter Hoang, CEWA Executive Director Dr Debra Sayce, member for Churchlands Christine Tonkin MLA, member for Curtin Celia Hammond MP, City of Stirling Councillor Elizabeth Re, Principal 2020 Geordie Thuijs, CEWA Capital Development consultant Suzie Richards, and Deputy Chair of the Catholic Education Commission of WA Jonathon Woolfrey. A very different but nonetheless very important ceremony. We concluded the ceremony with our Siena Centre video which really moved people. The link to the video is in this newsletter. Our sincere thanks to everyone who was able to attend. It was lovely to see you. We really appreciate your support.
Added to this week’s fun please find the Year Three ‘Assembly’ item - it is fabulous! As well, please find included today pictures of our Merit Award recipients and our MJR recipients. There is a lot to celebrate here, and we thank all of these children for giving of their best to our school.
Holly Butson runs our Project Compassion second hand book sale. Again, a lovely and well supported event! Thank you Holly for finding a way to make this happen. It is highly valued and gives us the chance to help the less fortunate.
Have a good weekend
Mark

“May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.” – Irish Blessing
