Message from the Principal
Dear Knight Families,
We had a wonderful day and a ton of fun with our spirit lunches hosted our ACP student council. We had hula hoops, rubiks cubes, cornhole, volleyball, and tunes! Our cheer squad showed off their moves as well with great performances at all 5 lunches. It felt almost normal!
Summer School
Courses offered this year through CUSD summer school will only be for credit recovery or learning loss support due to Covid-19 school closures. These courses will be free of charge. This year summer school will be hosted at Willis Jr High and Chandler High School. Our counselors will send more information on registration as it becomes available.
Instrument Donations
Do you have an unwanted Orchestra instrument in good shape that you would like to donate to ACP Middle School? If so, please email Mr. Salomone at salomone.jason@cusd80.com to see if it is an instrument that the school can use. Instruments the school maintains are loan out each year to students needing to borrow them for instruction. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!
Water Bottles
Every classroom has a supply of Kirkland water bottles but we are running low. Please remind your child to fill their water bottles every morning and bring them to school. I would like to avoid using more plastic. A water jug is provided in the gym for PE every day and students can visit the nurse or the cafeteria to refill if needed. We do know that kids forget and we will always provide water. Thank you!
Pull to the Side for Traffic Flow
When waiting in the parent pick up / drop off line on both Hartford and Oakland Street please make sure that your car is pulled to the right close to the curb. This allows thru traffic to still continue to flow. We want the ACP community to continue to be considerate for the surrounding neighbors/residents. Thank you!
Please scroll for more information on next week's happenings! Have a great weekend!
Go Knights!

LAST CHANCE TO ORDER A YEARBOOK! LIMITED COPIES REMAINING!
LAST CHANCE! ONLY 30+ YEARBOOKS LEFT TO SELL. Don't forget to order a yearbook for your student(s). ACP does not buy extra yearbooks to sell at the end of the school year so buy now. Not the right time financially, but you would like to reserve a copy? Families may reserve a yearbook by making a partial deposit and periodic payments through Josten's online system. We don't want any students to miss out! Students who had not ordered a yearbook yet were given a flyer a few weeks back. Please call if you have any questions.

ACP Library Update
We will still be limiting the number of students allowed in the library at one time to prevent the spread of Covid. Students are able to sign up for a time to visit the library during lunch (after they eat) or for 30 minutes after school. They may sign up to work at a table, use a computer, or to browse the collection. Each student only needs to sign up for one spot. Students will sign up via SignUpGenius. Parents may sign up for students, but please make sure the student’s name is listed! Click here for the SignUpGenius for March 8-12: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080844ADA72FA6F58-library17 A link to the SignUpGenius form can also be found on the ACP-Oakland Library website, which is located here: https://www.cusd80.com/domain/5815.
POWER HOUR REGISTRATION THE WEEK OF 03/09 thru 03/11
Power Hour is an academic support we provide at ACPO on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays throughout the school year. It is a time where students can go to study and work on any of their academic classes. If needed, there is a classroom teacher available to answer questions. Space is limited to 20 students and pre-registration is required. All students must have a reserved a spot prior to attending a session. Power Hour runs from 2:50 pm to 3:50 pm Tuesday-Thursday's. Room locations are listed in the Upcoming Events section above.
Students must be picked up promptly at 3:50 pm at parent pick-up. As a reminder, ACPO does not have afterschool care. Students continually picked up late may lose the privilege of participating in Power Hour.
Notes:
- These are not instructor led sessions and parents must provide student transportation.
- In order to attend, all students must signup weekly through signup genius to ensure sufficient space is available.
- Under current Executive Order, facial coverings are mandated.
To ensure that all students have the opportunity to attend Power Hour as needed, students may only be signed-up for 1 week at a time.
