Dealey Dragon Update
September 2017
Message from the Principal
Welcome back for another amazing school year at Dealey! It's been a great start so far. Students are excited and engaged in their classrooms and teachers didn't waste any time diving into some amazing lessons.
Thanks to our wonderful PTA, we've been able to see some pretty awesome improvements around the building. If you were able to stop by Open House, you may have seen our new gym floor. It's absolutely beautiful with our dragon logo in the center. In addition, our cafeteria has been cleaned and refreshed with some new paint - another huge improvement! Mr. Mazur will be painting some murals on the walls to finish it off very soon. New furniture in the hallways, entranceway mats, wall art, benches, landscaping, logo fence signs, and many other small touches all helped make our school even more beautiful than it already is. Thank you so much if you assisted in any way to make these things happen. It felt like we were coming back to a new school.
We had another change over the summer that I would like to update you about. Dealey will now be considered part of the Molina feeder pattern under the leadership of Mr. Raul Pena. This change was made to balance the number of schools more evenly among feeder patterns. Our previous executive director, Mark Ramirez, is now leading the Hillcrest and Conrad feeder patterns. I have enjoyed working with the Molina team and Mr. Pena thus far. The entire staff had an opportunity to meet Mr. Pena on the 21st and they seemed very comfortable and confident about working under his leadership.
I'm really looking forward to my 3rd year as principal at Dealey. It's truly an honor to serve you and your children.
Thanks for all you do!
Sincerely,
Beverly Lusk

Afternoon Pick-Up
Parents, please remember that dismissal happens promptly at 3:36 p.m. each day. It is very important that all students are picked up immediately after dismissal if they are not riding the bus to another location after school. Although we do our best to accommodate all parents who may be running a little late occasionally, please keep in mind that we do not have designated staff members on duty past 4:00 p.m. to supervise students.
If you feel that you need a little extra time here and there, our after school program, Champions, has a drop-off service that may be used on an as needed basis. There is a fee for this service. For more information, please call our main office or visit a Champions representative in our cafeteria after school.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
